headed up to hat creek this morning. wife dropped me off at rocky camp and i walked the stream down to bridge campground *and met back up with her across the road at the day use site. i never met another person on this walk . fishing was slow *at first. i started by using a tube jig and then a gold castmaster. changed over to worms and *caught one german brown, just lipped it so i released it. *caught one * planted rainbow and kept it as it swallowed the hook. *took alot of pictures along the way. this is a nice easy hike with many nice spots to fish. *weather was nice, 59 when i started and was around 80 when i left for home around 2:45. *lots of people were fishing the day use area , especially by the bridge. *a few fish were caught. i decided to fish some more and caught 4 rainbows that i decided were going to be food. * here are some pics of the stream trail and *fish.http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/1489/dsc00886x.jpghttp://img221.imageshack.us/img221/5062/dsc00887.jpghttp://img36.imageshack.us/img36/1021/dsc00888x.jpghttp://img196.imageshack.us/img196/7739/dsc00889s.jpghttp://img35.imageshack.us/img35/8229/dsc00890i.jpghttp://img32.imageshack.us/img32/818/dsc00892b.jpghttp://img268.imageshack.us/img268/8329/dsc00893a.jpghttp://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5082/dsc00898ugv.jpghttp://img35.imageshack.us/img35/7618/dsc00900x.jpghttp://img195.imageshack.us/img195/5927/dsc00885rcv.jpghttp://img36.imageshack.us/img36/6619/dsc00902d.jpg

Awesome! I love that trail. I walked it a few weeks ago and saw quite a bit of poison oak along it :o I was thinking about going back over there tomorrow morning. Great pictures [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Way to go. Hat Creek is definitely a beautiful stream. There is something neat about fishing in crystal clear water.

Thanks for the report and pics. I have hiked that very trail, myself. I love fishing that area of Hat Creek. It's just a fun little trout stream. ;)

Nice report, funny me and my brother were camping at Rocky until Wed. AM. Caught a lot of little rainbows and browns out of that stretch on worms as well. Right before we left two gentlemen that were fishing there pulled out a 3 lb brookie! Gorgeous fish. I will post the pics of our trip tomorrow if you wanna check it out.
