Was planning a trip up to woods lake for some fishing/ camping a week from today. I had a few questions before going. How long does woods creek run till it flows into caples...?where are the better spots on red lake? and how is red creek running?

I can't advise you about the creeks, but at Red Lake I fish on the dam just east of the "post-cable" that crosses the top of the dam right by where you park. Most of the fish I've caught have been on Gulp Trout Dough and Kastmasters in gold and silver. An occasional Panther Martin in silver/yellow will work too. The fish seem to hang close to shore. Out maybe 10 to 20 feet. Good fishing.

I agree I carry the 100% small spray myself. Thinking about getting one of those new hanger type sold by Off that have the little fan in them......Jetspray

Yeah I was thinking about picking up some for camping trips this summer. I wonder if you spray the 100% stuff on them will they work 100% better?.......Jetspray

Hard to say. My experience with mosquitos, and I have thousands or maybe millions at my house, is that there isn't much that keeps them away. I try to keep moving and maybe they'll leave me alone.

for some reason when I am in the boat on any of the high country lakes the skeeters don't bother me, maybe the wind blows them off the lake and they hang around the shoreline?

I always thought it was your blood type that drew in the skeeters. I hardly get bit but my wife is usually the one they attract to the most......Jetspray

Hey guys, forget the chemical stuff, just get a spray bottle, Listerine & water, mix about half & half and you won't see any skeeter's after using this mix, at least they didn't bother us. ;)

Cash,
Not unlike here in the valley it is all about the standing water. With all the snow melt there are a lot of little marsh ponds in the area. Now that it has warmed up enough they are hatching like crazy.
I walked down to Red creek today and this time put on my wading boots for all the muck. You wouldn't believe all the standing water you can see in the meadows right now.
