Headed up Bowman lake rd at 1130pm fri night. Got about 8 to 10 miles up and got stuck in a deep slushy spot , we dug for hours, *finally i get *us out. By this time it was 3 am. Found a dry spot at the 7 1/2 mile marker and set up camp. Got the tent up and started a fire. Up by 5 am to clean up camp and head down to Fuller. Nothing at fuller. Hiked from Fuller to Spaulding and fished for a few hrs.Not much luck there either. Decided to hike back and try going down the hill to Forest hill area. Fished several places on the American. One break off for the day and that was it. Set up camp near Oxbow and slept till 5 am. Fished the bridge at oxbow for an hour saw one guy break off a 20 inch Rainbow. Ended the day fishing various spots beolw Clemintine Lake. No truot but several smallies were landed. We caught 10 or more smallies and kept two for the frying pan. All in all a great adventure and time well spent! Here are some pics.

Welcome back- Glad you are safe. The snow this time of year is pretty unforgiving.
Those are some nice smallies, at least you ended up getting some action, sometimes those days seem like they may never end when all you want is some fish. That's alot of territiory you covered!

With more rain and snow up there i doubt it. Looks like its still gonna be a while. Be safe and be prepared if someone does try.

I used to go up there every Memorial day with a group of friends,we would camp at lower lindsey lake, and we would drive to bowman and usually attempt to get up to meadow lake,Bowman was usually no problem by then, but one time we tryed to go up to bowman around the first week in May,and it wasnt even close to open! two guys with shovels, and a front mounted winch on the truck, still no way!

Thanks for the Welcome! I have been going up to Bowman since I was born back in '58. Actually made it up there when I was fresh out of the oven!!
My grandpa and his drinking buddies went up there alot in the early 50's. The road is in pretty good shape compared to the POS it used to be before they paved it half way! But it doesn't look like it slows down some of the crazy men who bush whack in across the snow banks. The old boys would be proud of that!
Great place to go with some tough fishing at times. I have always found Bowman to fish best with a boat using typical brown trout garb. We always catch more fish out of Jackson Meadows. The biggest one I got out of Bowman was a 26' brown on a spinner. Biggest brown I have ever caught-wish I got more like that!!
Fish On!
