I'm going to Collins lake tomorrow....any tips you might have would be great. I never do well at Collins..never.

I would really appreciate some tips.

I'm going with my son and his friend....I bought a license for my son (who doesn't fish much) and a one day license for his friend (who has never fished).

I picked Collins because of all the plants and thought it would be the best choice for my son's friend to catch a nice fish.

I'll be in my Alumaweld Stryker (Burgandy color) with a 75hp Johnson. If you see me please say hello..

Fish On...

hey king james,
we picked up most of our fish here in this area, the key for us was slowing down and speeding up... the previous post with the link has everything we used....
i also talked to a buddy who went out yesterday and they got limits with the same stuff and also mentioned that a orange rapala was hot

My son and I were camping and fishing at Collins Lake Friday through Sunday. On and off rain for Friday AM. We had fish in the boat each day. 30 trout and 6 bass. Double trout hook up at one time with my six year old son for two 5lber's. Trolled top-line with grubs and Firetiger Rapalas. He won our bet for the first fish in the boat for a double chocolate ice cream! Great trip all around!

My buddy just got back from Collins today. They got six in the boat with the biggest at 5 lbs. They were top lining rapalas.

Thanks, fishwithgary. Sorry, have to get pictures out of my cell phone first. Good luck to you people going out there. Might be windy, but at least there won't be any rain this week.
