Spring Break fishing! *Bank fished the South Cove early this morning to pick up 2 trout- one DFG planter and a Calaveras one pounder. *Bites on inflated nightcrawlers and power eggs. *Sunny but very windy. *The windmills on the adjacent hills were working hard and generating electricity. *People left the South Cove because of the slow bite and the wind chill factor. *I fished mid-morning over by one of the fishing docks. *No action for me there so I returned to the South Cove in the early afternoon. *Caught 2 more DFG planters. *Slightly disappointed to be catching these little dinks- but I redeemed myself with my fifth fish. *It inhaled my nightcrawler and bent my new fishing rod over in its rod holder. *Reeled in a hard fighting 4.8 pounder. *She pretended to be the Easter bunny as she spewed out yellow eggs. *

Boats were not rented out in the morning because of the high winds. I did see one or two in the afternoon but I don't know how they did.

What time did you catch that? I was out there too! So damn windy all I could do is swear! It was my second time at that lake. I like the lake.( Eff Chabot) Its just I am so damned frustrated with not catching ANYTHING. Only one bite! Oh well.

Nice catch dude!

Ugs! ;)

Ug- I was back at the South Cove from 2:00-3:30. It was windy there all day! IMO Chabot is more scenic but LV is way less crowded and the bank fishing is more accessible. They are supposed to be planting LV weekly this month so fishing should be pretty good near the South Cove and marina areas. Good luck!
