..... Well maybe a few. ;)

Met with Wolfden at the bustling metropolis of Chillcoot at Wiggen's Outpost. First off Wolfden wanted to show me his new sportsman's orientated license plate holder. Nice Wolf. ::) On to Frenchman's where we walked down the side of a mountain to Wolf's secret spot. We fished from 6:45 until 1:35 using Kastmasters, Power Bait, worms and mallows and Gulp. We caught 6 trout between 15 and 17 inches and missed as many more. All fish were caught on green Gulp. It was very cold in the morning but warmed once the sun came out. The winds were variable and didn't cause a problem. These are the first fish I've caught at Frenchman's in over 30 years. They were beautiful and they wont be the last. After fishing I followed Wolfden through the urban blight of South Chillcoot to his hill top hovel where he loaded me down with deer products and fresh laid eggs. Todd it was a truly wonderful day. Thanks for the fishing spot and the wonderful grub.

That is true ;D though not to bad for CA and the money is a lot better here ;D ;D

Captain,

As usual it was a great honor to fish with you.....and to any sniffers, you are welcome at the "Chateau Wolfden" anytime.

The sunrises over the Petersen Range and the sunsets over Sierra Valley rival any......Even North Dakota ; ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

CC;

I can't beleive Wolfden made you walk all the way down to that spot
left of the dam............. Did he help you back up ??

Glad to see you got back to the car ok and that you got into some fish.
The fishing will get a lot better as the water warms and you should be able to get a few nice 16 inch rainbows.

thanks for the post and pictures.

It wasn't that bad. I'm just out of shape. :( Been doing too much trolling and not enough walking. With the rivers opening up this will change. The fish were actually bighting well. You just had to find the right bait. :) Those were beautiful trout. I wonder if Frenchman's gets the same fingerlings as ICR?

nice fish. i remember fishing this lake in the early 60's. and hunting not too far from those houses on the road just out of town heading to the lake. i too plan a trip this year to frenchman. maybe even pull my boat this time. last year i tried the little chance creek below the dam but never caught or even saw a fish. it used to be full of trout

Jetspray,
We could put you in that little roller cart with all of your stuff and pull you out with no problems..... ;D

CC,
Nice looking fish, it sure is coming around up there in the high country. Another light dusting of snow this next few days won't hurt us any.
18 more days, tick tock tick tock tick tock (insert best "24" clock sound)
The calendar is clear still with three or four locations in mind.
