Went down to try out the new wheels on the toon, going down Old Hwy 49 rd... Worked well, I'm very happy with it *8-)....

I motored over to the other side of the bank next to the bridge (north side)where there were lots of trout rising. I chased a few and managed to get one to bite a pink fly *8-) (Streamer).. was a Feisty 16" bow. Then headed home..

Couldn't have been better conditions on the water.

Hey Slim - Where do your feet go? Which is the front end? It looks like fun. Is it? This looks perfect for Amador. flasher

That road going down to the water next to the visitor center...(?) that was hwy 49 before they built that bridge (Of corse, I know you know that!! ;) )
I remember seeing that bridge while at that river there, thinking "why did they build that bridge so dang high up in the air???" Didn't realize that the lake would raise over 400 feet up when they filled it !!

Here I am trying to find the old road after they filled it. Which explains my atavar below... ::)

On the second picture, the front is to the right. I enter the seat from the right, sit down...I put on my fins...and prop my feet up on post out of the water.. When I need to stop the motor to fight the fish, I drop my feet in the water to control the toon, leaving my hands free to work the rod and net. *Fun? Naaa... ;D I'm lovin it!!! That was the third trip with the toon so far.

I also have a float tube which is great to pack in hard to get to areas...
Like this little lake up at 10,000 feet elevation.

Can Carry it on the back to other lakes like this.

But I can't do that with the pontoon... but the toon is great because of the motor, in places like the delta, with the currents and all...

Brings back memories. I walked inside that bridge as they were filling the lake. At that time the river was still a river under the bridge and looked awesome from the little holes down at the water flowing over rocks.

The pink streamer from Pedro in January/Feb when you killed the brookies and I ended up with nothing but arm fatigue after countless empty casts. I wish I caught so many fish that I couldn't remember what they were caught on!
