Barb and I were on the water by 8:30. We went North to no avail. Turned around and headed So. towards the nets. Caught up with Chick and Fishing buddy. I ended up with 7 to the boat, and lost 2 others bring them in.

I had a problem with my 90 HP Suzuki engine. It seem that a red light started blinking on the oil gauge. I was trolling real slow for a while on the main engine, don,t know if that has anything to do with it. I just had both engins serviced. Trolled back to the docks with my small engine. I checked the oil on the Suzuki when we landed and it was full.

If any one has any input or information on what poss. went wrong to cause the light to come on , Please let me know. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

Samm, that's the built-in electronics on the motor telling you it's time for service. Did it come on before you had the oil changes done? If not, solution is simple; Put your key in without the safety button clip. Turn to "ON"(not start) and pull the little safety button out 3 times with your fingers. That's the reset procedure.

It'll start flashing again when you hit the hundred hour mark.

First time mine came on was on the Sacto river and it was unnerving. Fortunately I had the engine manual with me to look it up to make sure it wasn't serious.

Blinking light is a reminder. A solid light with a buzzer tells you it has an oil pressure issue.

Yep. They set up those Suzukis at the factory to give you a warning for the 20 hr service (or maybe it's 10). The owners manual on my 40 hp doesn't even tell you how to reset the clock but the shop manual does. I guess the shop is supposed to re-set the warning but not the owner.

That happened to me at Lake Almanor on my first day of vacation for 10 days. I was 6 miles from camp on the lake :-? I checked the oil level and put in 1/3 qt. Used my 9.9 kicker motor to get back at 6 miles an hour. One hour later at camp called a boat repair shop , told him what happened and he walked me through the same steps. ::)

Made my day. Counting down the days till Pyramid, 9 days :D

Clamkin, I had the oil changed befor it's time. All I had to do is read the manual!!! And I did, then fixed the problem. Thanks for your input any how.
