Hi All -

* *I'm looking to to take my whaler out for a trip with the kids. *I've fished San Pablo banks with Power bait. *What do you recommend for trolling?

Thanks in advance...

I've had success in the fall at SP with small jointed rapalas.

This time of year, I'd try small gold or red spoons such as cleos or bouyants.

Might slow troll a threaded night crawler as well.

Do circles in from of scow canyon and troll the chum line on the marina side of the lake where all the bait fisherman draw in the fish , from the marina to the tower and back. Those are the spots I hit the most. topline in the morning and drop to 10 ft after 12pm. needlefish, kastmasters, rapalas(firetiger) and anything in bright colors going 2.5mph and set it back 100- 150 ft.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. *Forgive me for asking (I'm more a saltwater guy) but how do you guys rig your trolling lines? *Do you use an unweighted line attached to a barrel swivel then out to a snap swivel that secures the spoon?

exactly, just same but lighter tackle. I run 8lb mono and trolling beaded swivel and 5ft leader of 6lb flourocarbon line to a small clasp to snap on my rapalas. you can add a keel sinker(which has beaded swivels on both sides) to get you down a little under the surface.

Any San Pablo reports yet? Seems like with all the rain it would be muddy, I would suggest bait fishing if you have to go.
