My dad and future bro-in-law made another short trip up to one of the Mother Lode's most beautiful lakes for some holdovers. Lots of boat trailers in the lot and 3-4 boats in line for the inspection gave them a good idea that there might be a little competition in the hot spots. Sure enough, when they got into the river's arm it was pretty crowded. Most trollers were very respectful of others but a few b
assers whipped around too fast. They put flashers with Gulp worms, F7 rapala naked and dodger and shad swimbait out. The worm pole tacos as a nice trout peels out the line----LDR!
Back out and a couple minutes later, wham the other worm/flasher goes down and in comes the first rainbow for the livewell. A couple hours of LDR's and hard hits but no sticks yielded a limit between them with fish 13-15 inches or .5 -2.0 lbs.
Toplined, 85-120 ft back, .75-1.45 mph, in 15- 65 ft of water, temp unknown.
