Woke up this morning expectation rain/snow/wind and got clear cold conditions. Around 10:00 Mrs. C. and I decided to hit Topaz. Arrived Topaz around 10:45 and fished the north shore just west of the park. The temp was low to mid 30s with little or no wind. There was no ice on the lake and the shore was accessible from all locations. There was no one fishing anywhere on the north shore and only a couple of boats were visible. Fished with green Gulp and gold Kastmasters. We had no action and couldn't see any fish activity. Around noon the wind started up from the southwest so we pulled in and went home for lunch. Hate to take a http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/4144/skunk29gc.gif but getting some fishing time in the current weather cycle was sweet. I understand that there may be more bad weather on the way. :( We do need the snow.

CC,
Great Post and what a gorgeous day!!! Glad you got a chance to get out. I haven't been out since last Thursday and I'm going crazy. I know we need the rain but it's supposed to be pretty stormy the next week or so.

Looks like that lake should a kicked out a fish. It just looks so darn nice. Dang!....Well good call, anyways. I regret splitting wood this afternoon instead of fishing. It was cold, but doable.
Let's hope one of these 'forcasted' storms packs a punch- so far not so much.

Yeah Topaz has been a totoal zero for a month. I guess the fish are living off their winter fat and waiting for Spring. Thanks for the update CC.

Well I guess this is a shot to look at the bright side. You got to spend a beautiful morning out with Mrs. C fishing, while I was cooped up in my office working on three bids and pulling my hair out... [smiley=wallbash.gif]

You win.
