Hello All,

I would like 2009 to be the best trout fishing year of my life. What does that mean? Well, I'd like to be on the right lake at the right time of year.

To that end, I am interested in plotting a schedule that will allow me to be on the road 2 weekends per month. Time on the road for each trip will be 3 days, beginning to end. Perhaps a 5 days on 2 occasions.

The criteria is beauty (always a must), good fishing, boat access. Assume that it is a normal year in terms of moisture, temps, etc. I know, tough to do these days.
Month * * * * * * * Lake
January - * * * * *
February - * * * *
March - * * * * * *
April - * * * * * * *
May - * * * * * * *
June - * * * * * *
July - * * * * * * *
August -
September -
October -
November -
December -

You should try Eagle lake in the summer. *Nice weather, beautiful scenery and some of the feistiest large,Rainbows you will ever come across. Bridgeport Reservoir is also good in the summer for some serious footballs.

In the Winter and early spring there are the Moterlode Lakes. Amador, Comanchie, Pardee, New Molenes. To the East is Pyramid in Nevada.

I have been wanting to make a similar schedule!
I went to Pyramid last year in April.....AWESOME! I am going for the fest this year. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!

Other lakes that are on the top of my list include
Shasta
Pardee
Tahoe
Eagle
Flaming Gorge (Far away for most of us but HUGE fish) :o
Almanor
UVR
New Melones
Camanche

NOT sure when to go...... so many lakes, so little time!
Post up your calendar when it is filled in, I will be watching this post to hopefully get some clues as to WHEN to hit some of the lakes on my short list 8-)
GOOD LUCK ON YOUR BEST YEAR EVER!! :)

I will only post the names of lakes I have personally fished but I am sure there are many others such as Eagle, Pyramid, Topaz, and Davis that I have not been to, and could be just as good or better than these. Good luck. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

January -- don Pedro always seems to be hot this time of year.
Feburary -- Tahoe
March -- Beardsley as soon as road is open.
April -- Amador cutbows are always a good bet.
May -- Twin Lakes close to ice out for big browns.
June - August -- High country streams or lakes.
September --Bridgeport fall footballs.
November -- Tulloch for some nice holdovers.
December -- New Melones always seems to be hot this time of year.

Bump.

I hate to see this go away so quickly.

Your ImageShack account has been hacked. See that Dumb Test thing. If somebody clicks on it and takes the test, a bunch of malware and pop ups will down load.

Please read this:

http://www.fishsniffer.com/cgi-bin/forumsyabb/YaBB.pl?num=1234154002/0#14

When you go to re-size your image so that people can see the whole thing (no more than 480 pixels wide), check and see if you can find any text string that says "Do fish get thirsty? Take the dumb test --" and let us know.

Thanks drstressor,

Here it is again. Hopefully without the junk attached. My apologies (I was unaware of the debris).

Here are the final tabulations. Hopefully this will be of help to all. If there are any additions, I'd be glad to expand the table.

Thanks to all who participated.

Cheers,

DG
