Hi everone, I was just wondering about a trout full of eggs that I caught at Lake Camanche last Sat. It was a hen full of eggs. If I had let her go, would those eggs have hatched? Feal bad that I kept her now.
Thanks

hmm this is a good question that i do not know the answer toXD In my personal opinion they probably wouldnt have hatched but i could be wrong. Plus trout are stocked there i think. I hope this kinda helpsXD

Yeah, I'd like to know the answer to this too. I've caught em and had them spray eggs all over me. Maybe they thought I was a giant sexy male trout or something, but I wondered if I should have thrown her back.

In this case I wouldn't worry about it. Trout can hold eggs for a long time waiting for the conditions to be right before spawning. Those conditions may never be right for a successful spawn so don't feel bad about keeping the fish.

Can't you then use the eggs as bait?
