Got to boca today an hour late(drove out late and then ended up driving behind a highway patrol for almost half an hour) and it was full light by the time we started fishing. I went with a friend and we went straight to the dam, planning on the normally awesome fishing...it was ok but nowhere near what it usually is. Between 7:30 and 12, i only pulled out 13, and lost 2 at the shore. My friend lost 2 at the shore as well, and didn't pull a single one out. Felt kinda bad for him..........OH WELL! *;D decided to keep a limit today for my grandma *::) she's been asking for some fish lately, and i got pics of the ones that i kept. The others i tried to keep on land for as little as possible. All the fish seemed to be fighting with only half their energy today. Not sure what's wrong. And they were all pretty small compared to what usually comes out of boca. The biggest was only about 2 pounds. The boat ramp (have a picture) is about 300 feet from any hint of water, and the water on the lake is wayyyyyyyyyy down. It's gone down about 30 feet in just the last month. Kinda sucks seeing my favorite lake being drained....Anyway, i also stopped by prosser for the first time, without so much as a bite in the hour that i was there, but it seemed to me to be more of a trolling type lake. Gonna have to come back with a boat. On the way home i stopped by rollins for an hour of jigging for trout, and ended up catching one 13in. smallmouth. My first time at rollins as well. Rollins looks like much more of a bass/catfish type lake than a trout lake. Gonna come back for bass though for sure. Anyway, that's my day, here's some pics, and good luck to anyone fishing...well...anything *:D

Great reprt and pics. You definatly have Boca figured out. I was out there a few times this summer fishing where the little trukee runs in and did pretty good. Do you ever fish that area? Looks like the water is way down, bummer deal.

Oh yeah, this summer that was the hottest place to fish. The water level was at about 10 feet deep all over that area where the river runs in, and the trout were practically piling on top of each other to get to my lures lol. Rapala countdowns were the way to go. Also saw fly fisherman off of pontoons and boats doing really well. Trollers weren't doing so hot though. Always seems like trollers get the short end of the deal at boca. Anyway, i hope the water fills up to at least the same point next year. I drove by today to check it out, and i was shocked by how much the water fell. It's almost unbelievable when you compare it to how it used to be. And with the end of the fish stocking, boca is definately gonna be a bit more tough. Looking forward to it though, i'm guessing all the little planters will get fished out, and then there will only be the big smart ole browns and rainbows to compete against 8-)

Fisher, was that your Honda at the end of the dam? *Saw you guys as we cruised by. *My wife figured that we should just go to our usual spot since our girls were intimidated by those rocks on the dam last time. Anyways, I tried the tubes, and no luck at our usual spot.

We took the short drive to Stampede and saw that it was too windy, so we headed back to Boca.

We ended up with a decent take again in the evening on PB and Crawler/marshmallow. *No pictures again as we were too busy catching as the sun was going down.

I ended up cleaning 18 fish. *Most of them had small crawdads in them. *That explains your tube trick.

We may try the dam tomorrow since it's just my son, father-in-law, and I tomorrow.

Yep mikey, that was my accord. And 18 is a bit better than i did lol.

fishdogg, i went to the free access point off of rollins lake rd. Right next to the boat ramp. I didn't have gps or anything with me so i didn't wanna be circling around. I'm guessing there has to be a better spot for trout. Any idea where though?

Well morning is always better, but people always catch a bunch of fish in the afternoon using worms and powerbait. I use lures and jigs. Read some of my previous posts.
