I've been catching a lot of 10 to 12 inch browns at ice house. They sure look like planters. Does anyone know if they plant ice house? Thanks

Yeah, they must have. I know they plant browns in Wrights so it makes sense that they let some "off the bus" at the previous stop.

Are their fins stubby? If so they're planters for sure.

I just checked the DFG website and it shows they did- or will- plant there this week.

Fish and Game does plant Ice House with Browns. You can e-mail the planting program and they will send you a list of days the fish were planted, number of fish, and if the fish are catchable, sub-catchable, or fry. The list also gives species of fish.

The only reason I would check a planting schedule is so that i can avoid them.

Because?

- you want to catch bigger fish?
- you want to avoid the truck chasers?
- you want edible fish?
- you feel like you're cheating if you do?
- ??

That is so true..lmao "truck chasers" I've saw a few of those guys on the W.Fork of the carson a while back. I just laughed ;D. I was wondering why they were sitting in there cars for two hours, and then a Alpine Co fish truck pulled up and they were on it like flys on **** thats when I left.

alpine county and susanville hatcheries do have very tasty fish though...i just hate seeing those "truck chasers" fishing. they r some of the worst poachers of all. snagging fish and throwing back dead fish looking for the bigger ones.
