My brother and I decided to take a break from the heat so we headed up to Wishon.

We got there around 7:30 and started trolling depths from 10-20'..... It was really slow in the am with this one hitting my bro's pole after about 45 minutes.....

Small Sep's chrome dodger with a nitecrawler tipped wedding ring....

As we were trolling my bro was casting spinners to the shore and catching hard fighting colorfull Rainbows.....

The trolling was kinda slow so we stopped trolling and went to spinners...For about 3-4 hrs it was non stop action, we caught some really healthy and hard fighting fish.. we even caught 3 Brown's...

We landed 3 browns but it wasnt untill I looked at the pictures that I realized my bro had caught one of them twice.....Look at the color patters of these two pics....There was about 10-20 minutes span between catching him again...

Over all we were off the water by 3:30 and had caught 30+ fish between us.....One of my better days at Wishon....

Thanks for the report BuckSnort. I guess we should have gone to Wishon yesterday instead of Courtright. Went to Courtright yesterday afternoon and stayed till dark and between 4 of us we only landed 7 fish. We were fly fishing from tubes. There were two other guys out on tubes also and they too did not do well. The water at Courtright is very low.

I can't believe that the same fish was caught twice in quick succession! Guess trout aren't that smart after all!

Great pics!

Nice report and pics BS. Say.....was the water level back up to the concrete ramp? I'd like to take my 'toon up there but I absolutely must have a concrete ramp.

Thanks for the pretty pics.

Edd iam pretty sure its at the ramp.
All that water that is coming from Courtright, that should be
going to the Flat is staying in Wishon as a water bank.
O but dont ask why they are draining Courtright :o.

B/S,
nice pics was planning to get up there at least once this year need to hurry. My dad and I use make a trip to courtwright every year back in the early 70's before the project and the crowds.

Skallywag,

It was on the concrete ramp..Looks like it has come up maybe 10' since I was there about a month ago when it was still on the dirt ramp.. Do you do good at blackrock? and do the fish there get any size to them?

Skallywag,

It use to be an unknown jewel populated mainly by Browns. My personal best from BR is a 28" Brown. Sorry no weight, scales weren't popular back then. It all went to hell in a handbasket after the deisel spill at Helm.

Not legally, but I have. Strike that last remark.
