We headed up Hwy 4 Saturday afternoon enroute for Kinney. *After stopping in EPSG in Arnold we decided to fish at Mosquito instead. *Caught several while floating around on the lower lake with spinners, some other folks were using power bait for their limits of pan size planters. *(Didn't even stop at Lake Alpine as it looked like a thousand people were there). *On the way home we stopped at White Pines to try out some trout flies Bill recommended. *Neat place to canoe but the water temp was a bit high and very little activity on top...managed to land 1 rainbow on a power nymph and several bluegills took about whatever we tossed out. *I hear it's better in the mornings with cooler temps and less swimmers. *Still gotta get back up to Kinney lakes...FF

We also decided to get out of valley and headed up to Alpine. Got a late start and didn't arrive till after 0900, set up a pinic table and fished from shore for 2 hrs with nothing to show. left and went up to mosquito and missed 3 and landed 1 in about an hr, nothing big but on light tackle and cold water boy can they fight. Love the country up there and plan to do an August run with kids.
