The family and I headed out to Fuller on Sunday for an afternoon paddle and some fishing in our new kayaks . It was a beautiful afternoon on the lake with just a few boats and float tubes.

Dad got two rainbows on a green woolybuger across the lake from the launch ramp and I think he missed a couple of strikes too. I landed one rainbow on a brown wollybuger in the same area. I also had two missed strikes and one LDR on a watermelon grub.

It's a cool little lake - I had never been there before but I'm sure I will be back. Trolling from a Kayak was a new experience and I loved every minute of it. I have a few pics, but I am headed up to Eagle for 4 days tomrrow and the camera is packed. I also put a rod holder and GPS mount on my yak today and I will post some pics of that too.

Been quite a few years since I enjoyed catching trout at Fuller Lake and your post brought back some good memories of my early float tubing days. *One afternoon I had a few hours to kill on the way to Donner Lake. *I caught two small brookies right off and all around me fish kept rising. *I was casting a dry fly and it wouldn't take long to get it hit. *One of the few times I worried about catching too many fish! *The third fish was much bigger. *I felt it's weight, but missed setting the hook. *Oh well, no problem, and I kept casting. *More hits, but no hook-ups. *After about five or six I gave up on the idea it was my bad timing and reeled in the fly. *The big hit broke the hook at the bend. *Was in perfect shape just nothing there to catch a fish with. *In the time it took to change the bite turned off. *Only two trout, but lots of arm exercise.

It's a great little lake, only 64 acres according to Topo v6.0, and perfect for float tubes, canoes, kayaks and such. *Thought I read something recently about boating restrictions there. *Maybe speed limit? *I didn't carry a camera in those days so no pictures to help my memory, but I did re-visit using Google Earth and Topo 6.

I tubed was the upper shallow area around where the water flows in. *I'll look forward to seeing your photos of the lake and how you've got your yak rigged.
