500 lbs. planted by DFG on 5/8. *Fished from 8-12 and got a little action to keep me happy. *My power eggs and nightcrawlers got a couple of nibbles. Reeled in 2 little DFG planters. *A few weeks ago when I was here the hot spot was the bank opposite the road. *Today the hot spot was the deeper waters near the bank closest to the road. *

Sandy Wool- a nice place to wet a line, row a canoe, or jump off a cliff…

Went back Sunday morning to Sandy Wool for round 2. *Fished from 8-11:15 and got a limit on white power eggs. *The fish were feeding on the surface early in the morning. *Later the fish were in deep water.

Great, thanks for the report. Not a bad little spot for being close to town. Loved the pics. I might have to head up there sometime this week.

Hi Bobcatken,
Thanks for the report. I have to do some work in that area next week. I may need to take the float tube out for an evening outing.

Good luck if you go out there. I love Sandy Wool because it's somewhat scenic and good for some local fishing action. After this week, Sandy Wool will be pretty dead as the DFG isn't scheduled to drop off any more trout here for a while.

I've never seen anyone out there in float tubes. I don't know if it's allowed. I've only seen inflatable boats or kayaks. The "lake" is also pretty small. You can walk around it in probably less than 20 minutes.

If you guys are in the South Bay, another place to try for trout action are the Campbell Perc Ponds. There was a kids' fishing derby last weekend so it should have been heavily stocked. ANY SNIFFERS have any reports for this place?

Not to hijack the thread but i was at the campbell ponds the weekend after the kids' fish day and i caught 2 nice 2-3 pounders. Almost everyone was catching fish there. I doubt there is any left over from the kids' day plant.

Thank you for the report. *I was wondering how people were doing over there. *I like the pic with your hand in the water.
