first, i see the nice kok report for 3/17 from ml placerville....congrats, we were shallower today for the bows. *
second, i want to congratulate sstiddy on his first trip w/ his new boat yesterday, steve, good deal......ya got her wet and caught a fish on the maiden voyage....congratulations!!!!
third and last, i took the wife and her niece from brooklyn out....got to pardee late, around 1030, started trolling the east shore out of the marina and marked alot of fish all the way up to and around the river arm. *we trolled various grubs and rapalas at various depths for a few hours for nothing and thought maybe this wasnt gonna be our day. *we anchored back in a cove for a while to relax and enjoy the awesome weather conditions and have a late lunch, then switched up baits a few times and figured out what they wanted...ya boy, man what a great feeling....we ended up boating 8 fish in less than two hours mostly trolling the southern shore of the river arm in areas east of that first cove w/ floating jon. *what worked for us was rainbow and black and silver j-5s trolled medium fast at 10 to 15 feet on leadcore and OTW (no gps or speed sensor but definitely not on the slow troll). *all feisty fat bows from 14 to 17 inches, no kokes...no topline hits all day. *i'll post up a few pics when i get time. *the fish cleaned up nice w/ semi pink meat, i dont think they were recent planters.
