Collins is a great place to fish in the spring. This time of year can be pretty slow >:(. That doesn't mean you won't catch anything though. If you want to take your father in law fishing, I would suggest Amador, Pardee or camanche at this time. Just my two cents

tracker thanks. He lives in Oroville was going to take him there, but everyone says no browns and no size to rainbows. And the kings are all gone . Shasta Lake is my home lake and fishing is great. He's just not in to more than an hour drive. I just want the guy to catch somefish.........again thank you " Stan "

With a little love.............

People that get out will post water temps, so we can see
how the lakes are getting to "PRIME TIME" !!

Trout: 55 degrees

Panfish: 65 degrees

As long as it bends my rod......I love it !! :D

Get er done !!

The cohos at Oroville are on the top. Small, but plentiful. You might also try the afterbay as well, been lots of boats out trolling. Saw 6 boats today taking my kids to school.

Thanks I have to get a map of the lake Oroville and collins. I am going to leave Lakehead on Thursday and fish Oroville Friday and then Collins Saturday or the other way around. Not sure yet,Gary say's Oroville and father in law can catch some cohos but not of anysize. You say they are on top. has anyone gone down deep yet for them. Shasta Lake you hit kings around 50' to 60' that are of good size the smalls ones are up top. Again thanks " Stan "

Collins just got planted and is close to being full of water. Go check out their website

My experience at Collins is that the bite does not really pick up until the water clarity improves (for trolling).

Fished Oroville from 4-6 on Thursday of last week. Caught 5 or so on the top and 2 down deeper - all of them were 10-12 inches.
