Nothing but flatfish and flies. I'm going out to try and find a 7" pitch prop this afternoon so that we can troll slow enough for these low water temperatures.

I hope the wind dies down for you guys tomorrow. Right now it is blowing like heck at my house and out at the lake the wind is at 17 with gusts to 30. Likely there will be holdover slosh on the lake tomorrow morning even though the wind forcast is for 5 mph.

I do that also this time of year. *I'll only use an 8" leader in front of the fly so that the flatfish imparts some action. *Sometimes they'll mostly hit the plug, other times they'll hit the fly. *I guess it depends on the type of prey they are mostly seeing.

Well, it was still very slow on Friday afternoon. *We fished up at the Needles from 1:30 until 4:30 hoping to catch a late afternoon bite at the warmest part of the lake. *Only problem was that the temperature up north was the same 40 degrees we measured at Pelican. *There was a high overcast most of the day, so the shallow north end didn't heat up at all. *We slow trolled big flatfish at about 1.2-1.5 mph. *Mr. Ed of course couldn't stick with the plan and used everything in his box. *We ended up with 2 slot fish about 22" and one about 19". *Here's one on a flatfish:

http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/3264/flatfishnn1.jpg

Mr. Ed got one on a stick bait and another on a Lyman. *I told him we were trolling too slow for those lures, but he managed to pick up one fish on the stick bait while he was still letting out line and got another to hit the Lyman by ripping it after a weak strike.

Here's a nice shot he took of the geyser:

Thanks Doc, for the nice tour of the lake.

No lost lures, no "bumppity the rocks", and no moss to clean off the lures. Yes sir, mighty fine, never had to put on my jacket, either.

No *special lure as Doc said, just a matter of driving over a fish. *;D

10 to 25 feet deep seemed to work at around 1.5 mph +/- , Doc used a way out of sight set back and I had my usual 60 feet ;)

I tried my lucky lure, spoonsand even flat fish :'(
