Wolf74, Sabre02 and myself will be on the banks at 5am tomorrow.
We'll most likely start at the island then move to the rec. cove depending on where the schools are.

Thinking real hard about taking the day off and hitting the opening day fiasco. I do plan on going between Friday or Saturday.
I have been practicing against large tackling dummies in my garage.
I remember a few days of elbow knocking at the rec area last year.

First report, it wasn't too bad as far as combat fishing gos. Maybe the weather scared them off.
Overall very dissappointed with Pardee though. First off they planted on the 29th, today is the 1st. Just how many f those fish do you think were still hanging around the marina area?
There was almost zero action between 5:45 am when I arrived and 10:45 when they planted today. That is right 10:45.
I just can't believe that for opening day they didn't do a plant about 6pm Thursday to get ready for this morning.
The fish from Calaveras are nice and I caught 7 and kept 1 but please guys tell that driver he needs to get up a little earlier in the morning.
I would hope for anyone planning on going tomorrow that they plan another plant, but don't worry about getting up to early to go.

I had a GREAT day, and they DID do a plant, I watched them plant 3-5 pounders at around 10:45 or so. I agree, it was slow first thing in the morning, caught one at first light then went about three hours without a bite, and didnt see anybody else having mush success either! But we decided to move to the island, which turned out to be a great choice. I was fishing off the island towards the bank to the left of the launch ramp. I caught 32 trout, one was about 6 lbs, a couple 4 pounders and alot of little ones in the 12-15 inch rang! the big one took rainbow PB, the others ALL on one white one Fl.yellow Poweregg combo. I was really the only one catching that many fish, my buddy caught 7, the people across from me got 4, but I was on fire! I guess I was just lucky! I WILL post pics as soon as I figure out how.
