I would like to maybe take the kids out this weekend if we get the chance. So, my questions are, where can I launch the boat at, and can I use a 2-stroke motor there. Any spots would be great as well, but "PM" me any spot info, thanks.

hi mr. striper, last i heard the granite bay low water ramp was the only one open. *i believe 2 strokes are o.k., but someone please correct me if i'm wrong. *there's also a 5 mph restriction for the entire lake so i'd figure that into my plans.

last time out i fished the stretch from brown's ravine across mormon island area and towards dam and marked quite a few fish, picked up one 14-inch RT. *there's also alot of fish concentrated up the south fork arm, i caught a nice king in there about a week before the brown's ravine ramp closed. *i havent been over in the north fork since last summer so cant help you with that.

thanks to "fishtales" over on another thread you can go to

http://www.folsomlakemarina.com/Ramps.html

and check on the ramp status.

Granite bay is open and there is a dock. The kings are up shallow right now so they might be your best bet.

Will those kings hit broken back rapalas?

you bet.
i always keep a jointed rapala in the water when i'm trolling. *it amazes me.....you'll never know what you can get in some of these reservoirs..........maybe a bow, maybe a brown, maybe a koke, maybe a king, maybe a big ol bass.........but they all hit a jointed rapala when presented properly.

my wife nabbed a 3lb spotted bass trolling a jointed brown trout at folsom!

that nice king i caught a while back took the small rainbow trout pattern (J-5 IIRC).....i posted a couple pics of it here:

good luck, let us know how it went!

Please tell that to the black wakeboard boat that was buzzing the north fork the last three times I was out :-X My bud caught three nice trout while bass fishing, so there out there. Its time to dust off the rigger and the trout gear. The lake is 5mph, but that doesn't stop anyone. There are spots that go from 95' to 3' in a matter of 30 yards, so be careful.

Ah, I like to call Travis Mr. Glass. Seems like every time he races, he breaks bones.
