I made a long weekend even longer by meeting Mickey this morning and heading up to UVR. First time I've ever fished the lake BYW. We were on the water by 7:30 a.m. and first fish at 8:03 a.m. near the dam / spillway. It was a healthy 12" rainbow caught on a 3" white grub. About 20 minutes later, fish number 2 comes on a brown, 2" Lyman.

Then we hit a bit of a dry spell as we fished from the dam over to Sunset point and back. Then we picked up 2 more quick fish on a white Lyman. A little indication of our effort, 4 out of the 5 fish we ended with were all caught on something different.

About mid morning, we switched 2 rods to Mack gear and fished anchovies between 45 and 60 feet where we were marking stacked fish. We fished until about 1:30 and decided to call it a day. While the fishing was pretty blaw, the weather was good, the food was good and the company was good. I guess I'll come back and try it again when the moon is in a better phase. ;)

Thanks Dave for getting me out of the house ;D ;D ;D Good time on a beautiful day. There's just something about being the only boat on the whole lake, felt like we owned it ;) ;D Macks were stacked, but not biting, to early is my guess :)

I went up sunday with my Best friend and his son and my oldest we caught one right out of the gate and two take downs but for the next three hrs all we had was a great time. I noticed that most of the other boats on the water tried to stay away from us, as we where very loud and laughed for so long and loud that my cheeks still hurt not one beer on board froze are a__,s off and hooked one small one on the way back to the ramp at sunset. all where caught right under the boat with two or three colors on lead line watermelon with a night crawler on a hook no sauces or power baits we did find one anchor and seven flasher and dodger set ups on the bank. One of the highlights was watching jarred my friends son sink clear up to his crotch in the mud as he took a short cut from some rocks we where on LMAO .... I didnt see any stars but their was four boats one the lake at the sametime we where.... next time look at the sky the night before to see if the moon is bright lol ;)

Dave, Thanks for the post. I plan to go up to UVR this Sunday with my son-in-law and neither of us have fished the lake. Where did you launch and how were the launching conditions. Thanks again. Mike

Hey tcbritton,

Sorry that you and your crew didn't get into the fish. It's a great fishing lake.

Any chance that the anchor that you found had a yellow rope on it? Lost mine there in August. I had my boat anchored and when I went to check on my boat it was up against the shore. I think the nylon rope had rubbed against a sharp rock and cut through the rope.
