Here are a few ELT that we picked up at Biology Station. The trip thru the snow on A1 was well worth it. Fished the Nest area for a couple of hours then went up by the station and caught these in 30 mins. Cold and windy, 12 feet deep in 18 to 24 ft. of water//

Those are some beauties! Did you launch at the south marina? If so, how was the launch? I've heard the water is extremely shallow there.

We were trolling between the Youth Camp and the biology station speed was approx 2.0-2.2 mph 12 ft deep. we were using needle fish and a castmaster caught two on each lure. Water temp was in the low 40's air temp n the 30's but with the to up the wind didn't bother us..The fish were not hitting hard as all four were just lightly hooked on the lips, two came off in the net..I put in at the Marina water was fine for my 21 ft. just need to use the left side to launch from a big hunp on the right side. good fishn all//

Beauties.....Love those *ELT....
When I was up there in Oct they sometimes hit lightly too. I was just putting a slight bend in the rod (Used the riggers) so I could see a hit. Sometimes the rod would just slowly load up, then go crazy....
Jeez only one month left to go get um :D

Nice fish! A friend of mine and myself fished all day at Almanor on Sat.
Should have ran up the hill a little further. We only got one nice 3+ lb. rainbow. It would have been worth the drive to catch four of those hogs!

Right on Duramax those are some real fat healthy fish. The one with the red on it's gill is a beast. Big fish will not hit like big fish, After you hook um they don't like to budge from there spot! good job on your catch, thanks for your report

You can say that again troutwagon, we use ultra light grear 5 1/2' fenwick and a 6' lamiglas rod 6' test. That big red one was caught by y GF ad it didn't want to move after the rigger popped up she had fun bringing it in. glad to have the electric downriggers so we can get them up and out of the way//This is the best time to catch the big ones up there just dress in layers and enjoy/
