When you meet one Sniffer out in the boonies it's a treat. When you meet two it's a mini Sniffer fest. [smiley=cheerleader.gif]

Arrived Red 6:50. All by my lonesome. Hooked my first, and only, Brookie as fellow sniffer CG (cgagex3) arrives. 15 minutes later I hook and land a nice 17" Cutt. CG was there with the net and to take my pic. Thanks CG. Hooked another good Cutt but lost it. Only two others on the lake including a blue pontoon boat on the north side of the dam. CG and I decided to go on to ICR. Fished ICR on the far side of the dam. First used Kastmasters then switched to bait. Had one strike but I was so busy talking to CG that I missed a fish that nearly pulled my rod into the water. CG left for Caples and I went looking for Eagle Feathers but only found a Rattlesnake. As I was walking back to my truck the same blue pontoon boat that I saw at red was pulling up to shore. I meet-ed and greeted fellow Sniffer Dan (danmcmartin) who was having no luck at ICR either. He showed me his boat. Hey Dan you should really get a trolling motor. ;D Only two fish but a wonderful day. Nice meeting you Dan and thanks for the company CG.

Hard to tell from that unflattering picture, but those are 10 foot pontoons. I look like the jolly green giant. ::) Good to meet you too.

I don't know about the trolling motor. I might just leave it at home next time since you out fished me from the bank.

The problem as I see it is where would you put the battery? You could put it in your lap but if the chop got a little high you may have a problem. [smiley=shocked.gif]

That aluminum deck on the back is good for 350 pounds (according to the manufacturer). I could strap it on there. I actually am going add one. I have clamped it to the deck as is intended, but is hard to steer with it being behind you. I am going to mount it between my legs. The prop will be below and behind my if they were in the water but I will just rest them on the foot bars provided. I will post pics in the Boats, Motors and Gear forum.

They make an incased inner-tube with a battery holder that connects behind the deck and in between the pontoon floats. That way there is no weight on the deck and it doesn't interfere with your ability to steer. I have one for my toon!

Dan,
I must have just missed you at ICR. Capt. & I saw you at Red but you were clear across the lake. I never put my toon in the water, it just came along for the ride.
Capt.,
You are wlecome to borrow the net anytime. I am trying real hard not to leave it behind anymore. Last time I left it in the truck at Pardee I caught a 5 - 6 lber and lost it on the rocky shore beacuse I just couldn't pull it in without a net.
Brad,
Good luck and have fun with the Capt. my trip with Red, ICR, Red and Caples was an eventful day. I wish I could take a day off but with a three day work week I still have six days worth of work to do. >:(
You two C&R a couple for me.
