My boys and I decided to hit Pyramid for our first trip of the season. It was all smiles for my little guy. Final score was Ethan 6, Brandon 3 and Dad almost skunked, but finally picked a nice 23". Ethan had the hot rod today. It was the rod I won at Bite Me II's first Hook, Line & Sinker Tournament. I think Ken had something to do with my youngest handing it to us out there today. ;) Ethan landed a nice 24" hen at 5lbs. Boy was he giddy. Then not 1/2 hour later he pounds another nice buck at 26" and 6.5lbs. Today we went with toplined Apex 5.5" in Firetiger with and 2oz. banana weights over about 40ft. of water at 2.9 MPH. The weather was fabulous. Had to get down to just a sweatshirt in the afternoon. Hailed Mr. Ed & Okie up West, Fernley Tim w/ Farrier Frank down East and Tragedy Springs across the lake. Last on the lake, and last off the lake. Also saw Bob & Scott in their sweet ride. They helped out someone and their kids who probably shouldn't have crossed the lake in a small boat, as the wind kicked up for about an hour when it changed from an Easterly to a Northwesterly. They got them back to Pelican and then offered to take them out on their ride. They got one of the kids into a 27". Today was the kids day out there. Have fun with Bob & Scott tomorrow Doc. They said you get to drive while they fish ;)

Nice. Seems like it was just a day or two ago, my boys were their age. Now, one is a freshman in high school, and the oldest is a sophomore at college. Enjoy!
Hey! The trout we caught at Spicer Dam today were not near that size, but had the same vivd color. Beautiful fish, and a nice report!
