Fished the dam from dark till about 11. Had good action on rapalas and kastmasters. My second fish ended up being a nice catfish
20 ish inches. It was actually my first so I decided to keep it. At the cleaning station after I had completely gutted it it continued to flop around for awile. I think it was possesed? Sometime around 8:30 by buddy hooks with a nice fish that will not come up. Of course its on his ultra lite rod. After some time he gets this huge trout to the boat. My expert net skills swoop it up and he officially lands the biggest rainbow of his life (7.2 lbs). ;D Pretty impressive. :o Wait! That beats my personal best. Damn! >:(

For three of us we ended up with 8 trout, 1 catfish and 1 baby striper. I know I saw a few sniffers out there. The only one I talk to while packing up was stonesfan. I think he had a good day too. Nice meeting you. ;)
Im actually trying to post a photo but moment of fame may be down.

I forgot to mention to all the boaters there is nasty unmarked sand bar in the middle of the first strech of narrows. 1.5'. This sweet crestliner or lund scraped bottom in front of me as we were coming in. Watch Out!

nice going, thanks for the report.. don't know what it is but get skunked @ dam, everytime.. I guess I don't know the spot..I'll keep at it..

I haven't been able to find a hot spot at DV either, it's always some here and some there. I will say that a small orange apex should be on the list of lures to try, I seem to always get at least one fish on it.

Old School, good chatting with you at the cleaning station, I think

you're right, that CAT FISH had NINE LIVES.......... [smiley=yikes.gif]

I also saw a boat hit that HIGH spot in the narrows, they should

mark it with a bouy! Your buddies fish was HUGE, nice Rainbow.

I'm going to have to take my boat in and get my speedometer checked,

the Sheriff said he clocked me @ a whopping 18mph, I did'nt think a

14ft. LUND with a 15hp Merc. could go that fast........ [smiley=seestars.gif]

The more I fish the dam the more I identify spots where I get more action, but generally along the dam face and both sides have been most productive. The big one yesterday was right in front of the dam. Surface fish on the finder appeared down. I did see a lot of fish at 40 ish feet. all our fish were on surface with no weight.

It apears moment of fame is still down. I wonder whats up. I used another host site (imageshack) to post the pics and I think that is why they came out so small. :(

Old School,
nIce shot, how many pulls & is that across & right of spill???

11-05-2007, 11:05 AM
The photo is facing just right of spill way.
My buddy caught the fish so I don't really know how far back (no more than 100 ft), but Ive been 70 to 85 pulls back, until I get lazy then I just let line out until I feel like stopping.
