You folks keep an eye on your fish during the fest. I know for a fact that the Capt. Compassion may show up and he likes to kiss fish(ha ha).
Have a great fest people wish I could be there. [smiley=cry.gif]

Fishing was slow again this morning, a few people caught fish. Fish junkie,Rod bender, Mikie J & Pyramid Kid went south to Block House & had a great day. They boated 26 fish up to 24 1/2 inches.
Mickey & SD, Ron Gone Fishin & myself went down there about noon, we all *were able to catch fish. White spoon with red dots worked *for Ron, Frog Lymans for me, & spoons & Lymans for Mickey & SD. It was one helluva ride back as the wind was from the north about 15mph. We endured some 4-5 foot swells on the 8+ mile trip....took me 45 minutes +.
Doc found some fish in Windless Bay later in the afternoon, I don't know how many but I heard him on the radio. John B & Farrier Frank said they had a good day north of Warrior Chico & Big B had 3 or 4.
Fishing is Not anything like last year :'(.

I really, really wish I could be out there trying to find my own fish and working with you all and calling you in, or listening to where you are doing well and you calling the other Fishsniffers to your findings. That is the most fun. Anyway, hope you all have fun and I can't wait to see all of the reports. My tip would be trying at the needles or Fox bay at 30-40' with a watermellon apex or a #21 Lyman OTW. Good luck.

Well I was able to fish with Fish Junkie, Rod Bender, and MJKielty. I had a blast. I was a little uneasy at first when we got on the water and everybody looked at me and said where are we going?? So I thought for a moment and decided to head south and work the area between Indian Head and Pop corn. I figured it would be worth our while to not go where everybody else went, which was across the lake to the east side and or north. It truly paid off for us. For being Pyramid Newbies, these guys fished the lake like they had been doing it for years. They asked what are the hot colors??? I told them there arent any hot colors but these ones have worked for me in the past. It turns out that the hot colors where color that I didnt even have or ever used before. It just reinforced what somebody has said time and time again, everything works at Pyramid, maybe not right now but maybe later, everything works. Anyways these guys thought I was some kind of fishing god because I was able to get them into a good amount of fish that had some nice size to them. I think our smallest was probably 16 inches the largest nearly 24 1/2 and everything inbetween. I just chalk it up to good luck and following some simple rules that I was taught by men that I admire. All but two of them are fish sniffers the other two given the opportunity likely would have been sniffers.

So heres to Fish Junky, Rod Bender, and MJKielty. Thanks for having me aboard your beautiful boat. I had a blast and anytime you guys come over the hill again to fish Pyramid just let me know. Maybe I will have another lucky guess on a good spot to try out and we will knockem dead just like last time.

Good Show PK!!
Glad you guys caught fish! Man I am wishing I was there right now, even if it were snowing and blowing the wing nuts off my truck, I wish I was there!
Left behind with one other at work, to attempt to cover the production of 7 people, and in my spare time trying to pack to move, with all the arrangements not yet completed...
Man I wish I was there! Post some pics, if you can, so I can live this "fest" vicariously.
Still looking forward to meeting you at some junction. I have only been fishing on your namesake lake a few days over the opener this year, but it is a great big wondrous body of water to fish, and man! The Fish! Even the "slot" fish go 4-6 pounds!
Tight Lines. Go catch 'em, and thanks for the "momentary escape"!!

Cool report PK! I like going out and finding my own fish better than any other thing you can do on a Lake or the Ocean. My hat's off to you for not following the "crowd." [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=cheers.gif]

There will be plenty of photos to follow, with my group. But we will have to wait untill Rod Bender and Fish Junky get back on the other side of the hill with their cameras. But we took pictures of nearly all of our fish, including the small ones.

spent about 5 hours on the lake and caught nothing but still had fun-my nine year old caught a 23 incher which was cool cause that was his first from the lake after many attempts-wish i would have had more time today-they were nailing fish left and right at blockhouse from shore and the boats i saw pass would usually nail one or two also-awesome weekend though-we'll try again next saturday-

Just got in and WOW what a Great Fest. This one beats them all. Rod Bender took the ride up with me in my new to me Fest mobile. It made it. ;D MjKeilty also joined me and arrived sometime that night. The next morning (Friday) Pyramid Kid arrived and off to the ramp we go. With only Pk knowing the lake I told him to pick the place to start and off to Blockhouse we go. After getting there and setting the lines it took a while and then the bite took of and we started catching. We trolled from Blockhouse to Popcorn for nine hours with off and on bite times for 33 hook ups landing 26. The biggest 18,20,20 1/2, and 24 1/2 inches. We trolled 2.8 mph most of the time and at 18,20,21,24 ft. 3 inch Lymans in green and white and white and gold where top producers. Mike put a hurtin on them with a red with black dot spoon. Saturday we did the same with 46 hookups landing 26 with 20 1/2 being the biggest. We trolled the same ways as Friday.

Friday night was the Rib dinner and for those who didn't make it you missed out. The food was Great. After a great day of fishing it sure topped out nice. But the best part was meeting alot of new people like Mickey, Super Dave, VacaVille Bob and many many more.

Saturday night was the Potluck and the food was delicious. I didn't have a favorite dish because they where all good. I can tell you though for dessert I went crazy over D's homemade cheesecake. Now that was the best I ever had. Later I drank some off Freons no alcohol lemonade :P and alot of Chicks jellow ;) and had a real good time. All I can say is Thanks to all for the wonderfull time and till next time.

Pics soon to follow. ;)

Arrived on Thursday morning with GW Extreme. *We were immediately greeted by Mickey and Topaz Tom who came over and introduced themselves. *

We hit the water about 10:30 am and fished south of Pelican down to the Marina until approx 6pm. *There was a slight wind with a good chop on the water at first, but the lake laid down in the early afternoon. *We tried everything in the box, many different speeds and depths but only managed two fish at 19 in each. *

On Friday, We got on the water about 7:15am and tried our luck North of Pelican. *The wind kicked up to about 8-10 mph which made for a very rough ride and no fish. *We pulled out at lunch time hoping the lake would calm down in the afternoon....no such luck as the winds stayed and the swells got worse. *However, not happy with a skunk we headed back out and vowed not to come back in until we had fish, we got blown off the water or it was pitch dark. *We ended up landing 2 more fish and pulled out about 6:30pm. *

Thanks to some excellent 411 from the Fishsniffer Nation, we heard from fellow fishsniffers who got into some fish way South at Blockhouse. *Not knowing what the winds would bring, the 9 mile boat ride would be a calculated risk we would have to seriously consider. *However, desperate for fish, we decided to head South on Saturday in search of fish. *

As GW said, "We took the risk and the fishing Gods rewarded us." *We boated 30 fish to 22 1/2 inches, keeping 4 measuring 19". *We enjoyed talking with Rod Bender and others on the radio, sharing info on what was working. *As others arrived in search of fish, we headed back to the launch at 2:30pm satisfied. *

That night we got to spend some time talking with Super Dave, Rick One Rick and Steelhead and many others. *

Nice to meet everyone and thanks for a great weekend of fishing. *

Well we arrived on Tuesday evening and survived the windstorm. Our best day fishing was Thursday with 11 fish to the boat with the biggest being 22". *Fishing was just ok for a lot of people, but for those who got lucky and got into them, fishing was great. *Fishing to me was only secondary as to meeting most of the sniffers that showed up. :) ;) *What a great time at the campfire last night. *Thanks to all!!

I will be putting this years DVD together, any of you that took photo's and would like, please send them to me in CD form and I will include them in the DVD. *I will give it 3 weeks to receive your photo's, then I'll put it together. *I know there's some great photo's out there, so please send CD's to:

Ran to Blockhouse this morning. Put down, & 5 minutes had "fish on". Blue & chrome Apex @ 22' going 2.8mph. 5 minutes later, & I had another....then it shut off for a while. Southeast wind started to pick up. Got one on a frog Lymans about 45 minutes later, then nothing for an hour. Changed to a Firetiger Lymans & had a take down pretty quick.....Reset the picked up my biggest fish of the trip, 21" on the Firetiger. Noticed the dust clouds forming to the south. Picked up & headed in about 11am.
Marked a lot of pods of good size fish 15-25' deep, but no takers most of the time :'(

Thanks FishJunky for hauling my butt around in your new Festmobile this weekend. It was the shackdown for the new ride, and we made up and back without a hitch.

Had to be one of best trips fishing with the Fishsniffer group I have taken this year. We were the total rookies, none of us had even been to the lake, let alone fish the lake. A big thanks the PK on our first day out, he didn't promise anything, just said this is how I fish Pyramid Lake.

Mike and Kevin, did we have a blast or what? Sorry about the ice chest Kevin, just kidding. Mike, the lure that you let me use, was the ticket, thanks buddy. Can't wait to fish with guys again soon.

I met so many new Sniffers and got see many Sniffers from the past. We had the hot boat for the weekend, and going south did pay off for us. We didn't have a plan B, just what PK showed us the first day.

Thanks to all who put this Fest together. I will be back next year. I did take some photos of some the special moments on the lake.

My niece, Shauna, invited a friend to Pyramidfest this weekend for her very first fishing experience.
The weather wasn't ideal, and the pre-fest reports indicated a total change of tactics from years past. We were going to have to work to get these young ladies some fishing memories.
After arriving Thursday afternoon to somewhat calm conditions, Friday morning shaped up to be a bit rough, so the boys went out to scout for some promising water. Very tough going, little action. A few in the protection of Pelican Point, but, nothing spectactular. Saturday morning was beautiful and much calmer water, but, we still weren't sure where to find dependable numbers of fish. We headed north toward Hell's Kitchen and set down lines trolling very close to the wall south of the kitchen. A mixed offering of spoons and flatfish and the first rod went to young Jesmane who had never been fishing before. After a couple LDR's, she landed a nice 18-1/2" cut to remember as her very first fish. Shauna followed with a great fight on a 20" cut with a little help from her cousin *Jonathan.

Jesmane and her first fish. (gentleman Jonathan holding fish for the mugshot so she would not get slimed)

It was not your typical Pyramid outing, however, memories were made.

till next time,

Well as always it was a great fest! The fishing wasn't nearly as good as last year, but oh well that's fishing! The rib dinner & potluck was great! And it was great to see old friends & meet new ones! Here's a pic one the 1 decent fish I caught all weekend, and it's nothing to write home about!

I've got plenty more pic's & tales (i.e. Doc's "breakdown" yesterday but I'm exhausted) & since I took Monday off I'm fishing Oroville tommorow to get the skunk stench off the Lund! http://www.fishsniffer.com/forumsyabb2006/Templates/Forum/default/sad.gif

As always a great time, fish or no fish!

I should've added the fish above was caught on a 2" yellow/orange w/black dot lyman. I caught more fish on small lures than bigger ones this year. It was caught 15' down in 20' of water just north of the RV park....

Sniffers, where do I start? Left the house 2:15 AM friday morning. Couldn't sleep (Good God, is this your first fishing trip MJK?). *Landed at Pelican Point at 5:45 AM ready for some football!!!) Fortunaltly for TEAM FISH JUNKY, we had Pyramid Kid (Bryant) with us on *the beautiful 21' NR of Fish Junky's. *Headed south for some unknown reason (ignorance is bliss!) and proceeded to land 26 fish!!! *I LOVE this lake!!! A HUGE shout out and thank you to Kokanee Board moderator Dennis for *the lures (Lymans + spoons) selection. *
Following a GREAT meal of ribs, spuds, garlic bread, salad, and a few adult beverages, hit the rack, in my Jeep, and called it a night. *Did converse wih Mickey, Freon and a few others at the adult beverage bar. Man I love these guys!
Woke up Saturday ( with a bit of a headache) and headed south again. Managed to land 26 more fish ( did I say I love this place?)on Team Fish Junky's boat without our new found buddy, Pyramid Kid.
" I'll be back!" said in my best Arnold voice, next year!
Thanks to Fish Junky for towing me around, Rod Bender for inviting me, Dennis for the lure selection, Pyramid Kid for the lessons, *all the Sniffers who coordinated the event, and for the 52 fish that found their way to our net!

Fishing was slow for me but I had a great time with all the sniffers :D Great pic's guys, I guess I should have taken some too, well I took a few, might get them posted later. What a great pot luck, never seen so much great good in one spot, yes, I hurt myself ;D ;D ;D

What a great trip! I met Farrier Frank in Auburn Thursday for the ride over the hill. We met up with Mickey and hit the water about 1:00 to try our luck down by the RV park. We landed 6 fish in a few hours, not the *Pyramid fishing we have been spoiled with in the past but the weekend looked promising.

Fri. Frank and I trolled from Pelican all the way past Warrior before finally finding fish landing 7 for me and 4* for Frank. We thought we had a good thing going so Sat. we headed straight for Warrior again.
This is the day we got our asses handed to us by the fishing gods, 1 for Frank and a skunk for me. Humbling to say the least if not down right depressing listening to the radio and the calls of "fish on!".

Back at the dock the final rub was the rangers who asked if we had any fish to check and reading the smirks on their faces about our worst day ever on Pyramid. We started feeling better after talking to other folks and learning that despite the radio chatter it was indeed a rough day of fishing for most.

Then came the potluck, with all that great food and camaraderie how could one not feel better! Thanks to everyone there for making it a great trip, that's really what these are about....especially if you don't catch fish. ;)

Seems like we had our share of trials and tribulations this time with all the boat problems and such but if everyone makes it home safe it's all good.

PK, congrats getting the rookies onto the fish, way to go!

Sun. We broke camp and on the road by 5:30am, including a stop for breakfast and a stop in Auburn to say "Hi Mom" I was home by 11:00am. According to plan the truck was unloaded and I was in the recliner by 1:00 for some football with another Pyramid fest under the belt. Thanks again for the efforts of all that went.

Boy another great trip at Pyramid. I was lucky to hook up with Fernly Tim and his dad for a guided trip of the lake. It felt great going out with a Pyramid expert who new the ins and outs of the lake. ;D ;D Well we did catch fish but Tim has this strange way of netting the fish. I will call it the Barry Bonds style. I bring the fish to the boat and Tim swings the net very fast at the fish, three times and yes by strike three the fish got wacked of the hook and swims away. :o Will fishing was very very slow for us the whole trip, but it was awesom to go across the lake and see the other side up close. Got to take many photos and be close to the pyramid and see the hot water coming out the side. The rocks are so awesom. So Tim my friend thanks again for the ride and thanks for the fun on your boat even if the fishing was sloooow.

Well what can I say, what a great time and yes it was bigger than the Salmon Fest, but only by a dozen or two.
The fishing could have been better, Hilda and Beth both got two and I got the big skunk. You know how many times I had to hear that, lets just say a lot ;D. Everyone who knows me can tell you the fishing always a bonus, but I come for the Fest. This FEST was no dissappointment either. The food was the best and so much to chews from (pun intended). This year I got it figured out though, I got a small plate and hit the table about every ten minutes for a little of everything that came out mmmm, gooood. I could hardly force down those wonderful deserts, but I managed.
This year we stayed at Crosbys, it was nice but I don't think we will do it again. Having to drive on the highway to get home put a serious dent in my partying. Much more fun when all you have to do is crawl to your tent. ;D We did get to meet a few of the locals at the bar after our drive in.
Great to see all the folks I have met before and really nice seeing all the new faces. These Fest are the greatest. When is our next one?
Quess thats it for now got some good pics too, I'll work on getting them up later.

Had the pleasure of meeting up with kingsmules, for a little
fishing on friday.

Talk about a sweet ride, nothing like a 2007 21 foot North River with
a kicker & 225hp to get you around. *

Did I mention that it also has ALL the bells and whistles.!! * :D * ;D ;D 8-)

Here is Harland with a very nice colorful fish..........way to go "skipper". ;)

The Tribe is also tring out a new thing, called over night "Wet parking".
We were all taking bets how far down the road this guy would get................................ :o * * *:P * * * *:-/ * * * *:'(

Heck, I did not know Nevada had "Rednecks".......?? ;D ;D

Had a great time Fri,sat & Sunday fishing and getting to see everyone
at the party.

That picture of Sundays sunrise is a beauty.................what happened
four hours later in the south end, was a "Wind Surfers Dream " !!

Did anyone get a picture?

Can't say enough about all the great food on the pot luck......... 8-) 8-)
and the ribs were also a class act.

Will sneak out every now and then and post for you..............

Hey All!

I had a great time! Usually we let Freon do all the posts but Jen (Whatever) and I decided we'd better start defending ourselves! *;D

Beth, your lake is beautiful! Doesn't seem to cough up many fish though *:-[ but still was great weather, great people, double great food. I, too, ate more than I should have but everything looked so good, I had to try it! *;) And, those jello shots hit the spot! ;)

So, rookie that I am to the Pyramid Fest and posting on this here board, thanks to all of you! You all make the fishing even that more fun!

And, here's to the Sniffer Sisterhood!!!! ::) ;D ;D

P.S. Once I figure out how to post up some pictures, I will add a few!

Thanks Beth for the boat ride and the kind words. We had a really great time and would love to do it again. I've got all the confidence in you, your much better with your boat than you think you are. Just keep driving it and it will come to you. [smiley=yikes.gif] just kidding ;D
In case no one noticed I was pretty much sober for this fest. If you didn't notice you may not get another chance because I don't plan on it happening again. Darn that having to drive afterwards. ;D
Beth put her and Hilda on fish, but not me. Something about the Sniffer Sisterhood only. ;D

Once again i had a blast at the fest. The food and people were great as usual. The fishing on the other hand wasn't great. Fished with fishin buddy for a couple hours friday and landed a really nice fish just short of 24". Ended up fishing with Mr. Ed Sat and Sun. getting 7 on Sat. and 1 on Sun. We fished mostly blockhouse and south to popcorn. I didn't catch a single fish on my go to lures. I was digging deep into my box. I couldn't get one solid producer all weekend. It was great meeting all the new sniffers and getting to see the sniffer "old timers" ;D ;D I can't wait for next year!

Hey ric, did that bankies lure work for you guys? How nice of him to donate his lure and about 300 feet of line ;D ;D ;D
BTW, i found out my detonation sensor was bad so my motor was in safe mode. Atleast i got out of the shop for under $100. That was a huge relief. :)

Even with the reports of slow action, compared to last year, it sounds like it still was a great fest. Wish we could have made it, but some things came up that had to be taken care of before we could go. And another great fest in the history books. *Had a great time catching up with some old friends and meeting some people for the first time. *I had Crappieman67 with me and our trip started with meeting Freon in Loomis to head over the hill. *We got on the water in the late am after setting up camp and fished til 5pm landing a total of 5 with 3 LDR's. *Fished from Spider to Separator. *I had bought some Davis Divers earlier in the year preparing for DR's to be banned and they worked great. *I landed all my fish on Friday with them. *

Saturday was Crappieman67's day with bringing 5 to the boat while I focused on driving*;) *We must have had 40 different lures in the water. *We even jigged at the Needles after seeing the guides do well in front of the steam geyser. *Freon and crew were really getting into them for a while. *Sunday turned around for me down at Blockhouse with landing 3 up to 23".*

Now that is a typical sniffer exaggeration. ::) All I had to go was take off my shirt and maybe reach down a little to get the sockets back. ;D I'm still missing 3, so if anybody finds some 3/8" metric sockets in Anderson Bay, they're mine.

What happened this year was stupid on my part. Especially since the kill switch clip feel out at Pyramidfest 2 years ago and I went through the same humiliation. But that time I was on the west side with Sierra Hillbilly and his wife and I figured out the problem myself after beaching the boat in 4 ft swells. Tim is an honorable guys, so not too many people found out about it. This time I had Steelhead with me and he wanted to write a story about the fest (I sure hope that he doesn't). That would involve catching fish, which we weren't doing very well. So it seemed that our only option was to spend the rest of the day running back 15 miles to the dock on the kicker, or getting help. The funny thing was that of the 15 boats that said they were coming over to help, WetdogII was the only one who actually made it to the beach. The others would all call over and say "We're on our way, but we spotting this bunch of fish and we want to see if we can get them to bite". ;D

My set of boat tools has 2 spark plug sockets, but neither one would fit into the block. So I couldn't check for spark. Gary (a former Honda tech) had the cheapo emergency wrench that Honda provides on board. As soon as he found that I had no spark, he asks "Did you check the dead man switch?". I never even turned around to look. I knew that was it. :-[ Thanks Wet Doggie!

As far as claiming trolling lanes goes, I learned a new protocol this summer from a guide in Alaska. As I ran the boat along the beach in 6 ft of water, we had another boat doing the same thing in the opposite direction. The conversation went like this. Doc: Ed, what's the convention up here to pass somebody this close to the beach? Ed: Head right at him. Don't make eye contact. He'll turn.

I've found the this technique works very well even down here. ;)

Went up Thursday afternoon with my old buddy AuburnDave. *My son, Bronco Matt, was delayed working in Yosemite and finally made it to Pyramid Friday afternoon. *We had a cabin at Crosby's this year.

Dave and I headed out late Friday morning and just north of Pelican Beach one of the downrigger rods came off like a salmon hit it. *At first I thought we snagged the bottom, but we were in 40' of water and only down 20' OTW. *Then this monster starts stripping off line. *

I asked Dave to reel in the other line and he had a fish on also. *He finally did a one-handed net job on an 18 1/2" Cutt that hit a green/white spoon :). *Meanwhile, my line is now under the boat and getting close to the kicker prop. *We finally get straightened out and I reel in an empty Lyman :(. *That fish felt like a monster on my Seeker Koke rod.

We enjoyed the ribs Friday night and it was a good meal except for Rod Bender giving me a wierd look when I said hi :-?.

Saturday we fished north to the Needles and only caught 4 fish for the day, losing a few when they came to the surface and shook the hook. *The crew was too tired for the potluck and went to bed about 7:30 PM ::).

Sunday we went south with everybody and managed just one fish while marking a ton. *After Dave got soaked by a big wave and lost a fish we decided to pack it in. *Got back to Rocklin at about 4 PM.

Looking forward to next year and I will bring the trailer this time so I won't *have to worry about driving after too many wobbly pops.

* *Robert 8-)robert your welcome on my boat anytime ill have to take you out again when fishing picks up ::) then I can show you how I net or should I say knock off a ten pounder that usally takes four good wacks in the head ;D ;D great time everyone see you all at the next one 8-)

Like Captain Morgan said I'm still recovering from the trip! *[smiley=suesscat.gif] *But what a great trip it was! * [smiley=thumbsup.gif] *Gillcollector, Nomad and I did great with 10 caught each day and 11 keepers. *Only 4 or 5 LDR's with the barbless hooks which didn't seem to make a difference! *I'm sure it was easier on the fish too! *Smallest was 16" and 2 fish over 22" and real fat that were released. *

Thanks to Fishjunky and Rodbender and Pyramid Kid for the fishing updates that they were slaying them *[smiley=worthy.gif] we decided to head down to Block House even with the 4 to 5 foot swells. *But the long and bumpy trip was worth it as both days we had a blast! *;D

As to the partying it was great too as Gillcollector and Gary did a "Pink Floyd" concert at our campsite and everyone that was there truly enjoyed it! [smiley=clappingcheesehead.gif] *

Thanks to Captain Morgan's *[smiley=pirate.gif] Tequila shots I wasn't feeling any pain and you know it's time to go to bed when everyone was keeping tabs on how many times Loose Goose or I were falling on the ground! [smiley=rotfl2.gif]

It was nice to meet Gary and see that beginner's luck still holds true as he caught the biggest fish at 25" for his first time at Pyramid! * ;)

Gillcollector took all the pictures so I'm sure he'll be posting them soon!

Great to see familar faces and new faces at this year's fest! *Look forward to next year's!

I think we need to have two Pyramid Fest's, one in the fall (October) and one in the spring (April) as last year we also did great in the spring, the weather was great and it would be fun to do it all over again! *[smiley=strawberry.gif]

Like Captain Morgan said I'm still recovering from the trip!

I did three weekends in a row of these events, I'm starting to think of October as Fest Season ;D. Actually I was surprised I could pull it off and though it was a blast I don't know that I'll try for a triple next year, it depends how they line up of course. ;)
I'm really looking forward to this weekend at home, maybe I can get the rest of that Pyramid dust cleaned off of the camping gear. ;) ;D

Sorry we missed you Mickey, Didn't mean to hurt your feelings.I didn't see or hear of you anywhere. We, I... should say, I had enough fun & cocktails for all the sniffers. So, Mickey, if you needed a reminder of the reason you quit drinking again, you needed to either hit the lodge or our camp. ;D RodBender was glad to see me, he liked that he wasn't the shortest guy at the lake ;) Next time i'll try mingling way more. ;) We did have a nice Pink Floyd concert going. ;D

Hey guys, you are killing me with posts all over the place, I posted on the campfire board as I thought that was the place and then you go and put another one here

Yeah, me too... *:)

Anyway, had a great time with great people. *Thanks to Fernely Tim for the lure loan and guide service. *Thanks to Robert Long for sharing his comfortable camp and his special campfire. *And thanks to Kell I keeping me fed and out of trouble.

For my two days fishing, I managed to get one just out of the slot at 19 1/2 inches. *The bad news was that I didn't get to learn if cutthroat trout are good eating but the good news is that I didn't have to clean fish. *Left more time for festing! *

It was great seeing those I know again and meeting new. *More names than I can remember so I won't even attempt to go there. *Looking forward to more fests in the future!

Like OTDRSMN said, Pyramid Fest was spectacular this year. *It's been my second one and it was everybit as good as last years.
The turnout was smaller but the event was still worth every ounce of effort put into it.

As usual, the eats at the potluck were excellent. *I shared the weekend with OTDRSMN and NOMAD. We caught our limit
on Friday down at the blockhouse. *We lost several to that dreaded LDR. *I even managed to knock one off the net for NOMAD. *
With the barbless hooks, extra caution is needed. *But this one, wasn't to be lost: *

OTDRSMN hooked this fat throwback: *

We were graced Friday by the company of Capt. Morgan, Loose Goose and a wildcat named Gary. *To all of you we kept up till
the wee hours, we're sorry about that. *Too much laughter and too much fun occurs at Pyramid Fest. *Maybe we need to
section it off next year. *Have the family camp and the grown up camp. *The grown ups would have to be in Windless Bay to not
be heard though! *:-) *I blame it on Capt. Morgan, the so called "Mayor" of Pyramid Lake. *

It was Gary's first Pyramid trip, and wouldn't you know, he nailed this 25" down by the blockhouse. Gary's as hooked on Pyramid
as this fish was on his hook!

Met lots of sniffers this year. *Less people allowed for a bit more intimacy. *I could run through the list but you all
know who you are. *Sniffers are an awesome bunch of people. *Events like this underscore that thought.

In closing, one of the finest things about Pyramid is the sunsets on the East shore. *The hills just come alive with shadows
and light as the sun sets.

Must say I had a really good time up at pyramid fest. Had a good time at the rib dinner and the pot luck the next day. Thanks Ferrier Frank for getting me a ride with Drew in his boat on Saturday. Had a really good time with out there fishing on the lake and for two rookies we did manage to get a few bites and even a couple of trout that day. ;) Even though the fishing was tough that day the weather was beautiful. And with the pot luck starting a little while after we got in man was there a LOT of food. Everything was awesome Ithink I gained like 5 pounds that night. I cant wait to get up a fish with some of you again. Got some good pics but for some reason cant figure out how to post them oh well.
