I was looking at the weeks upcoming weather and I see there is rain and snow and cold weather in the cards for Silver and Caples. You know that means the thermo will change and the big 'uns are going to surface soon. I cant wait. I'm headin up to Silver for a day of fishin either Friday or Saturday and will report back if successful..

Fished Caples Monday at the levee 1 small Bow and two Brooks on a Gold Kastmaster. Wednesday the Captain is going on a Walker Rivers adventure. West Walker, Little Walker, A couple of casts at Bridgeport then the East Walker for a little barbless fishing. Friday I may try Silver, Caples and perhaps Blue. I understand that Thursday is going to be nasty.

Snow is why God invented snow shoes.

The Internet is wonderful. I'm semi retired and self employed and I can schedule my work when I want to and work anywhere there is IP access. Most of the work I do is done early in the morning, at night or on weekends.

Alas no boat. Had a nice one 15 years ago but now it seems too much trouble. The Captain practices Old School Fishing. A big stiff Zebco Rino Rod, an old Mitchell 300 spinning reel, a ratty old fishing vest that holds the majority of my fishing stuff. This with some good walking shoes gets me to the fish. Don't get me wrong. I love trolling. No better way to catch browns and there are few opportunities to catch fish of any size from Tahoe without a boat. I will *But I've caught some fair size trout from shore.

The ultimate question being who invented the inventor?

Hit Silver Lake yesterday. There was about six inches of snow at the peak of Mormon Immigrant Trail. *Rainbow action was hot, nothing of any size to brag about. *Caught two Browns as well. *Trolled, staying in the top five feet the whole time. *Yo-Zuri 2" Floating Pin's Minnow was the weapon of choice.

Went to Costco today in Carson City. The peaks over 88 are snow caped. There are expecting some more tomorrow but like Mr. Ed said it is going to warm up again.

I was in Truckee last year on a job, watching those guys roll through on their way to Reno in 35* temps left me with admiration, but no desire to to ride. 8-)
