Went down to see how the water and Boat ramp looked. It's not too bad.
Sorrry, but to really see the picture, just click on the URL #. If I posted the picture I would have to shrink it to where You really can't see it very well . !!

This picture of the ramp is from the dam.
Same picture, Cropped. You can see it was busy in the afternoon.
I fished the AB , caught only 14" brown. The water was 5 feet lower than I had ever seen it. By the time I got off the water it came up 1 1/2 feet.. Which explains why the bite was off..... trout don't like changes!!!

A blue Heron had let me get close to snap a couple of pictures..

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. The boat ramp actually looks pretty good and much better than the last time I was there in the spring.

Looks pretty good to me. Can you launch on basically that whole beach?

Actually it gets steep as you move more to the right. You can launch directly below the ramp farly easy.

By the way, the cropped picture wasn't working, but it does now... I fixed it.. Had 2 dots directly after the jpg.. it messed it up.... sheesh >:(

Thats my ride to the right of the rig parked on the ramp. 4 in the boat, hooked up about 25, kept 10 for all to share. Fished for the Browns from 35 to 50' deep and came up with nada.

Ramp isn't bad, saw one dude put in a bass boat this morning with no problems. Watch out for the stumps about 20 yards out.

I have to change my plans for next week, instead of going to Cherry lake we are going to Beardsley. My 4 wheel drive vehicle is in the shop and I will have 2 wheel drive truck. Do you guys think the launch will be OK to put it my 19' Jetcraft?

I've been wanting to take my float tube to beardsly but just havent found the time, You know, so much water so little time. Does anyone fish below the damn in the afterbay area, Is there good trail access to that area.

The afterbay is real easy to get to. Drive all the way down to it across the dam. fish early the float tube should be a good addition to the afterbay. I've seen people in them but I don't have one so I've never done it. I'd be keeping my eye open for when they release water though. Someone on the site will be able to tell you cause I'm sure that at least one person here tubes there. Be sure you know the regs there too.

Hmm looks like a good lake for my kayak!

08-05-2007, 07:54 AM
jeffrm20. Kayak would be easy to launch and fun to fish from. If you do it be careful of the wind. It comes up pretty strong in the afternoon as I remember. It's a canyon.

A little history from a old guy, fished since 1955, when dam was built some big browns in the afterbay, lots nice rainbows then, limit was 15 then, bad dirt road to lake, had a big brown taking rainbows so got a big rapala and painted to look like a rainbow , got him 36" did not weigh or did not mount no money 16 year old kid. Probably 15# +. Later one day fishing upriver saw a bunch of big fish upstream thought they were suckers but wife said looks like trout, stopped on way back from hells half acre and wow they were rainbows, got two limits 3-5# fish checker said best bunch of fish ever. Not bragging but that was the way it was, have not fished for a few years there. Have some stories from donnels but for another time. Point is still good fishing there and beautiful area. Lots of good memories.

Good Luck Young guys
