Last day of my fishing trip. I am thrilled with the perfect weather I have had all week long, unforgettable!
ToDay was another beautiful morning, flat calm & warm. Had my jacket off at 7:15.
Buoy 33 fished with me today, & Cuhogn had his Dad on board with him, Dad caught some nice fish, & one beauty that I will let Cuhogn post with pictures.
Was able to talk with 40 Love today & trade waves, pretty boat 40 Love.

Slow fishing from 7 till about 9am fishing the willows & Wizard cove. I caught a beautiful female that looked a lot like a Rainbow, green back, black dots, & pink on the sides. Beautiful fish & she went 23" & weighed close to 4#, no pic because I left the batteries out of the camera too long last night, had to do all the set up & I didn't want to hold the fish out of water that long.
Headed to Hells Kitchen about 11:30. Started trolling at the North end, didn't go 50 feet & had a take down. Reset the rigger sat down.....fish on.
Then it was the Buoy 33 show, he hit 4 fish in a row, three 23 +inches in a row
I noticed the dust blowing at the needles so we headed for the safety of Pelican. Trolled 10 minutes & Buoy 33 nails this beauty
He weighed in at 4.8 pounds, a real hog for his length

So now its back to reality, & all the catching up on chores around the house.....It was a blast this past week 8-) 8-)
The best part; besides catching all those pretty fish, is sharing with you guys, Sniffers are the BEST!!

Hey VVB. Thanks for keeping us posted everyday. All those posts just made me want to get out but I just couldn't manage. Your posts were almost as good as being there myself. Okay, maybe not but they certainly were better than nothing. Thanks again.

What a great weekend, thanks Bob for sharing the "tin tent" with us, very nice and good to be on the water with you. As Bob said my dad showed up this am to fish with me, so Ron jumped into Bobs boat to get an early start on the fishing. We headed up to Wizards 1st thing and covered a bunch of water before I picked up 2 quick fish around 22", then my dad starts pulling out his "special" lures, you know the one's, those catch all the fish lures that are just a bit different then anything you have although you've got every subtle color around it ::). *He quickly puts a 21" fish in the boat and then hooks up with the big fish of the day on a purple flatfish, 6lbs 8oz beauty. The bite slows and we decide to head over to the needles and he gets the next lure out a purple prism tape spoon he ordered from some back east 8-). He proceeds to put 4 fish on board including a beauty male, at least he let me drive the boat. ::) Wind starts picking up and decided to head over to Spider and troll toward the ramp, Finlay something decides to hit my lure only to have my dads rod get hit while the boat is drifting. Ended the day with 10 and some more great memories with friends and family.

You decide is Bob good or Ron lucky (note: the lure above the net)

Cuhogn. You gotta love going out with our dad and having him show you how its done. One of my most favorite things. My dad just gets this look on his face like "i have no idea why I am catching all the fish and the biggest fish" but he has this subtle look that says...."remember I am your dad and I will always know this better than you...remember I taught you how to fish". God you have to love it. Makes for a great father/son moment.

Thanks for sharing and I am glad you and your dad had a great day on the water. VVB....is he lucky....of course not. Catching that fish in the net is because of his expert guiding :o ;D

Nothing better.

Bob made the quick "scoop" just as the lure came loose.

Thanks VB for the all info and updates during the week. To be able to spend the time you did up there, with the weather you had, well, it's just a blessing ;)

Maybe some day that will be me!

I'm still planning on going up there on May 10 so I hope to see other sniffers there.

Hate to rain on anybody's parade, but have seen too many photo's of fish with fingers in their gills to let this slide. Just a friendly reminder, if catching and releasing, please avoid putting fingers in/around the gills. In all likelyhood the fish is going to die after realease if the gills are damaged. Photo's are nice and we all like to see them but drives me crazy to think some of these fish are being put back in the lake. Barbless hooks are nice too! No barbs on my hooks and I lose very few fish!
