View Full Version : Windy Camanche  4/15

Started out by the Darn. Two lines out. One at 10' down on the rigger and back 175'. The second one down 20' and back 150'. Firetiger Apex and a Firetiger F-7 Rapala. Used Krill and Shad scents. 1.5 to 1.8 on the speed indicator. Caught and released four rainbows from 2.0 - 3.6. Kept the five pounder. It was not going to make it. Just wanted to catch and release some fish today. Really foggy this morning. Cleared up around 10 am. Just as it cleared, The wind took over. White caps. Water over the bow. Finished up around 12noon. Next week KOKANEE!!! Until next time. Robbie (Koke Machine)... ;)

5.3 lb. rainbow...

Close up of big fish...

Nice report Koke man. Did you catch the trout out around the Big Island or the dam? I'm thinking of heading that way in the next 2 weeks. I hope to have the same luck you usually do. ;)

kokoloco, I caught the big one between BIG hat island and the Darn. in 80' of water. Most of the others that i released were caught around the spillway. Good luck up there. Post us when done!!!

Great Robbie. I was too concerned to take the boat out yesterday. We fished all day Sat in the rain for one 3.5# and one monster 7.5#. Then Sun we just came on back home.

You got your boat painted! Nice stars. I'm ready for the Melones kokes if they ever turn on.

Fishbully, I didn't paint the boat. Same Dark blue sticker. I just put new lettering for the boats name. (KOKE MACHINE). I had i friend do the lettering on the computer and he put it on vinyal. As for the stars, i've had them a while, just wanted to wait for the lettering. Maybe Melones this Sat. for Kokes. Keep in touch!! (Koke Machine) Robbie...

Nice fish, and great report Robbie. You did get that bugger on a certified scale, didn't you ;)

Trying to decide between Camanche or Melones for Sunday. I think Bass/ trout at Camanche may win, and wait for your report on the kokanee.

See ya in a couple of weeks....

Allen, The trout were caught between 15 - 28'. Have had great luck this year with the F-7 rapala's and Apex's. The firetiger color is by far the best. Go catch some fish and post when you get back with pictures.
