Dad and I hit Comanche on Friday the 9th again, hey, why mess with a good thing? Anyway we started by the south ramp where we found all the fish the week before and wasted 2 hours with only one short bite. We moved out into the main body and started working our way toward the north shore and started picking at fish. We finally put together a pattern using small shad colored grubs 5 feet down on the riggers. The fish were relating to points and shelfs that were 20 to 25 feet down. If we got over deeper water we didnít get bit.

The bite opened up with a triple then a double. Here is a pick of the double in the net.

Here is dad holding the double.

We ended the day with 13 fish up to 4lbs. Here I am holding the 4lbr. A great day!

Took a buddy back on Saturday after pumping him up on how good the fishing was. That was a mistake. We started off working the same points and shelfs and my buddy stuck a 3 Ĺ right off the bat so it was looking good. We picked at the fish for a couple of hours then about 10:30 the bite totally died. We spent the rest of the day trying different lures, presentations, depths and locations but never had another bite. We ended the day with 5 fish. Although it was a very nice day out.

Nice fish FishnMike the weather in the background looks great as well.

There had been a mention of an increase of the launch/fishing fees at Cammanche. What are the rates this year?

Havn't been up there in 07 yet and they didn't have any info up on increased rates, but I am sure they will raise them, they do every year. For 2006, gate entry, boat launch and fishing passes for two guys it was $22.

Way to go Fishnmike, glad you guys got into some fish. Me and Mrs. Koke machine are probably going to head up to Melones on Sat. I know of a couple friends have done well above the parrots ferry bridge. So were going to give it a try. If it's still slow, going back to Camanche. Good luck. We'll see you soon. Robbie.
