While surfing the net for Bodega salmon lures, I ran across this tomic plug. Does this look like a good color for Pyramid?

Thanks.

Yep. That's Army Truck. It's a good transition pattern for late morning and early afternoon. It works at any depth. That is one of the only 3 patterns I ever used at that lake until I hooked up with the sniffers and filled up a couple of tackle boxes with lures that aren't any more effective than my original patterns. ;)

I have several tomics and it sure seems to me that the lymans modified with the single siwash definitely work better. I used the same color pattern on both the tomic and lyman and the lyman was definitely outfishing it. At this point I just can't justify buying more since they are more expensive. Let me know if you find out anything different.

Thanks Guys!

Hey Doc, are you gonna tell what the other 2 colors were or are you going to just leave us hanging? http://www.fishsniffer.com/forumsyabb2006/Templates/Forum/default/grin.gif

I had pretty good success with the tomic's at the fest. These were the ones that worked.

here's a custom red frog flatfish. I can't wait to get back up there.

I would start out with frog, then go to army truck, and switch to rainbow when the sun was overhead. *I fished nothing but large Apexes for many years.

Those are a nice selection of Tomics SJ. *I have most of those patterns myself and they all work. *I rig mine the same as yours. *I like the 7" version for large fish. *Most of the smaller fish miss the hook with that single siwash setup on the larger plugs. *That is the idea of course. *

There are tricks to using Tomics. *You need to use a large wire clip attached to the upper ring (if your plugs have 2 rings). *You can troll them either fast or slow. *If you troll them slow enough, they will wobble. *They get hit, but it's hard to get the hook to stick. *We would probably do better using a trebble hook. *If you troll them fast enough, they will dart like a Lyman as well as wobble.
