Fished Pyramid with my dad for a few hours on Saturday. Fished Dago because of the wind, and I generally prefer to fish in 5-20 feet of water and target big fish this time of year. We fished with watermelon spoons and frog flatfish and caught 15+ fish. Several real nice slot fish. The sun popped out so I thought I would try a chartruese spoon with orange dots. It paid off big. Caught this big hen on the inside of a turn as the spoon was dropping. Thought that I had snagged the bottom until I lifted my rod. Thanks to a skillful net job by the old man we got this one in the boat before the hooked popped out. Didn't weigh it because my scale tends to tear up big fish. It measured at approximately 30". I was thinking ten pounds, but I've been known to exaggerate on occassion. I have the next two weeks off--I think I might go out again! http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/2143/bighen2450x375nm8.jpg

Pyramid is 24 miles from my house and I live about 10 miles from down town Reno. It really will depend on where your coming from. Pyramid is not east of reno but north on Pyramid wy. It is actually a state route but I dont recall the number. No matter if your coming from the east or west on I 80 you will get off at the Pyramid way exit and go North. From the free way it will be about a 40-45 , min drive. Dont forget to stop at the winners corner there at Pyramid and La Posada, to get you last second items and your fishing and boating permits..

Caboosh,

Were you using the U20 flatfish? *Great fish, by the way! *Wow 15+ fish in a few hours, can't ask for much more than that! *;D *I'll bet that your fish topped 10 lbs being 30" inches.

Nice fish,

But whats up with that yellow spot on the fish, any one know what that is? I caught one with a spot last year about the size of a quarter. The color is like a real bright yellow.

Good job,
Fishing Buddy and I launched at Popcorn on Sat also. I noticed quite a few boats launched there due to the weather. FB lost a real nice one by the dock :'(
