View Full Version : Camanche and a Barbie Pole....

* Took my girlfriends daughter up to Camanche today to try for her first trout. I had picked her up one of those 2+1/2ft. Barbie fishing pole earlier this year and am determined to get her a fish on that thing...
* I quickly determine that a minicrawler with a marshmallow is the way to go after catching one on my pole. I set her up and within a half hour, she lands two nice ones to around 3 lbs each.
Some ol boy down the bank who had been out all morning and I had not yet seen him land a fish was tickled pink seeing her land those fish on that little Barbie Pole.
* I couldnt resist sending her down the bank before we left with a message to that guy...."Try these...." I told her to tell the guy, as she left him the rest of our minicrawlers... ;D ;D

Scooby Doo poles have done the trick for me and my kids more then the nicest rod and reel combo. I think fishing with your kids makes the fish gods happy!

Nice fish there. Always great to hook the kids up young. Where were you fishing at? North Shore?

Hey Dog,

Great job out there today. When you have to bend the elbows to hold the fish up, you have done good.

That is a great day!
My daughters first trout came on a Mickey Mouse pole, it was close to 4#'s while I got a skunk on my $100.00 set up. ::)

Camanche was a good choice to get the kid on some fish. 8-)

DeltaDog, please send my congratulations and "good job" to your girlfriends daughter. Every kid should get a opportunity that you have provided. Kudos to you too.

What a heart breaker she is going to be. Any picture of a fishermen straining for a pose is great but being her first is just too sweet.
