I went up to Stumpy this morning for a solo fishing trip. I had Loon on my mind, but as I came round the bend and down the hill the truck and boat just automatically turned into Stumpy Meadows Parking Lot.

The trout were easy pickins, they just couldn't leave the worm behind a Seps watermelon dodger alone. No downriggers were needed this morning just a medium split shot and 100+ feet of line. The trout were not huge or the best fighters but did appear as if they had been eating well.

The weather was great, shorts and a sweathshirt was almost too much in the shade of the trees. The water surface temp was 64 degrees. The wind kicked up a bit around 9AM.

A group of dentists and accountants showed up while I was loading for the trip home.

I stopped by the hardware store on the way home to see if I could buy Frank and IT a coldie but I was told they were at Hell Hole with PB and T.

Looks like a nice day on the water. Congrats on the catching. You know its a cool place when you can get your dental exam and have your taxes done while you fish ! ;D

Sorry we missed you Allfish. We drove by Stumpy around 1:30 on our way back from Hell Hole and would have stopped in but the parking lot looked full... including a lot of motor cycles. I should have pulled out my VHF and made a call. And, of course, IT, PB and I stopped at the club for a beer around 2:30. ;)

:-[ Yea Dale...that post was pretty bad. I didn't have any beer, it could really have been bad if I did.
