Hit the lake about 8am. Pretty cloudy, with light wind. Shot over to Dry Creek to see if we could get some trout and salmon. Ended up boating 5 (4 Kings and 1 trout) C&R'ed the one trout and one salmon as they were small. Kept 3, which are in the pic below. One of the kings had a DFG tag on it. Will call DFG tomorrow and give them the info. Has a couple of more on for a second or 10, but that was about it. Overall, a fun day!

What were you trolling with if I may ask?

Criplure in brass/red, and an Apex in flor. orange seemed to work the best.

Thanks for the info. I haven't been up to the lake since 2/23 and our last posting. Everytime the weather's been good, which hasn't been many days, I haven't found someone to go with me. But I hope to get up there soon. The bite should really be turning on here soon. Sunday looks like the next opportunity for a good day if it isn't too windy. Nice fish. Helped pay for the gas too...

Yeah, sunday is supposed to be nice, so we may head back out to Shasta. Or, we my make the trip over to Lewiston to see if we can hook some of those big trout.

Thanks!

It's the right time of year, and I think that the fishing would be even better than it is if we could get some good weather. The surface temp yesterday was 48-49, and we couldn't find any trout anyware. I did hook, land, and release a small rainbow, but I didn't even know he was on, being on the downrigger at 30' down.

The fishing may be sizzling hot by the time you get over this way!
