Fishing around Truckee?

I'm going to be in Truckee for a couple days around New Years and would like to do some trout fishing. Is there a good place to try? The only lake I know of there is Donner but I have never fished it or any other lake up that way. I won't have a boat so I was thinking power bait from the shore might be the best thing to try. Anybody have any ideas of places to try and or what to use? Thanks.

Check in at Mountain Hardware when you get there and they should be able to direct you on what is the best current fishing in the Truckee area. Besides Donner, there is Boca and Stampede but access may be a problem depending on the upcoming storms this next week.
