Got a late start and was on the water by 8:00 AM. Perfect weather and only a few boats in the lot. Headed over to the dam and little hat. Lines in the water for 10 minutes and a LDR. I am thinkin good day, well maybe not...put one in the boat with a fire tiger rapala at 10 feet on the rigger, and two more LDR's. Off the water around 2:30ish. Great day on the water with the wife.

A buddy of mine went on Thursday and couldn't keep the fish off the line. Using an orange grup with white head, 100 feet behing the boat, right on top with no weight.

Food for Thought

I went to the Camanche Pond on Thursday to meet some friends and show them how to catch some trout (ha ha). It was cold and foggie but they caught some nice fish. By 9:00 the fog lifted and the bite stopped. An hour later the fog rolled in again and the bite got hot again. I think the fog made for the better fishing on Thursday and poor yesterday and today.

The fish must be a little sun shy.

Bullet Man, It's funny that you mention that because I fished Amador last week when it was overcast and the bite was awesome. Then I go today with the sun out and it was nothing like last week.

Fished Camanche Sat morning with nephews. On water at 7:30 first fish about 8:00 another about 9:00 am. Moved to Hat Island area and got into fish. Ended day at about 1::pm with 6 in boat and a few LDRs. All fish caught toplining with dodger and crawler. No luck with Rapalas or other lures. Kids had a blast. All fish were 1-2 lbs.

Trout shark and I fished Camanche saturday morn. We trolled
the Hat pretty much all day and got 5 in the boat and 3 LDR's. Two were around 20" 3 were 18", all clean fish.
We used perch and fire tiger J7 raps. Worked great, we got
5 in about a 3 hour span. We were in the klamath rental roat. All the fish were caught on the back side of the hat.
Also he caught one of those birds with a rapala. I swear
you can catch anything with those lures! ;D

Did the fish at Camanche lose the pods yet? I'd like to go back there, but :-/

No pods on any of the fish I caught, the smallest of the bunch had a wound from one but thats it. They were really
nice fish.
