Fished Putah with a buddy of mine and had a fun day. We each caught a hog and some others to go with it. We fished from 12-5 using small midges and egg patterns. The creek was extremely crowded. Here are a few pics.

great pics rmj ;D how far is putah creek?

11-30-2005, 04:52 PM
I think Putah is a barbless hook, catch/release stream. It's in Yolo/Solano counties and drops out of Lake Berryessa along Hwy 128.......wd

Putah Creek is below lake berryesa. The water reamins cold year round since it is pumped from the dam so the Trout grow well. There were actually a lot of people. We got lucky and found some few nice holes where no one was fishing at the time. I believe we were fishing mainly in between holes #4 and #2. The Dam was crowded with about 15 anglers so most of the good spots were taken farther down. The creek is barbless and catch and release only this time of the year. And you really have to work for the fish.
