Checked NDOW - they just stocked last week (2500 browns and 3000 rainbows). Anyone hitting? Saw fresh tire tracks by Lloyds bridge but, it was raining and no bites. Tried Dear Run but, it was raining hard. So if any Nv. natives are out there let me know if you have that magic spot!

incidently - Topaz lake is rockin. Catchin my limit 14 - 16 inch Rainbows every day I go.

Love the Carson but never found a good place to fish it in From Carson City east. Topaz is indeed rocking.

Topaz this time of year is a trolling lake. In a month or so with increased runoff from the W. Walker the fish will move to the south. Sit fishing the SE corner of the lake with Gulp or floating crawlers can be productive. If the lake comes up enough you can fish up where the water enters the lake for some nice trout.

Thanks for the hints! I try to hit Topaz now and then when I visit my parents in Carson City. I just went to Frenchmans for the first time and did ok, some nice size fish in there. Very cold though!!!

Never hear much about Walker Lake. What you do hear isn't good. Lowering water levels. Fish populations declining and becoming generally unhealthy due to increased alkalinity. Not good.

North side shore fishing I use artificial trout worms, a floating salmon egg and douse it with anise oil!
South side - garlic power bait (bring snacks, the smell will make you hungry!)
don't have a boat but the guys say rapelas are working great
