Everytime I visit my aunt in Half Moon Bay I pass by crystal springs, I never see any boat or anybody fishing there, but see a floating dock in the water meaning it was fished at some point. My question is Why and When did it get to be Off Limits to fishermen?

I know a few folks who have fished it, but only at night. It's a federal water shed for the San Mateo county drinking water. The bass in there love 12"-16" plugs and average 12+lbs.
The trout in there are massive as well taking bombers in 6" RB.
Dont get cought in there, it's a $5000 fine the last time I knew of. Must been 12 years ago.

The boat dock you see is for the maintenance
boats. The lake has been off limits as long as
I can remember.
