Can anyone recommend a good place to launch south of the bay bridge and close to the Alameda Rock Wall. Thanks for the help.

The Encinal boat ramp is right next to the wall. Next to Encinal High School in Alameda. Low tide is a problem launching though.

There are several launches in the Alameda channel as well; the public launch at the end of Grand Street is very good.

If your fishing at the rock wall there is a launch RIGHT next to it. It is behind encinal high school and is free- however, not very good facilities, and be very carefull around low tide- gets extremely slick- i would suggest 4 wd or do not launch or pull out at low tide- my friend's tacoma almost ended up in the water!

Thanks for the information all. Don't know the bay that well, but looking forward to exploring and trying for some halibut soon.
