Picked up Dave at 0830 and headed to ICR. Fished on the west shore below the campground using Gulp, worms and Kastmasters. We drew the double skunk. This was the first decent day for awhile so that was ok. ICR is in good shape and is much higher than it was this time last year. The feeder streams are adding water and most of the spring runoff is yet to come. The boat ramp at the day use area is in the water and with a couple more feet you may even be able to launch something. After fishing decided to look up in Hope Valley. Checked the 89 and 88 bridges. The water in the West Carson is high but is in good color. The DFG has scheduled a stock this week but as of Wednesday Afternoon has yet to visit this area. Drove on up to Red and boy there is still a lot of snow up there. The lake was covered with 6 feet of snow and it looks to be awhile before it's gone. Thanks for coming Dave. A beautiful but fish less day in the Eastern Sierra.

Captain: don't feel so bad about the skunk. A friend of mine spoke to Dave Kirby at Woodfords Station the other day. He says the feeder streams are delivering such cold water that the fish are down and sluggish. He suggests trying Summit Lake. It's stocked, too and about a 3/4 mile mostly level hike from Airport Road.

All my pictures are resized to 448 X 336 before putting them on the web. Don't use Imageshack or Moment of Fame. I have my own domain and host my own pictures.

ICR stands for Indian Creek Reservoir. It is located NE Alpine County 4 miles east of highway 89 half way between Woodfords and Markleeville.

ICR= Indian creek reservoir....its in Alpine county, between Markleeville and Woodfords. To CC, i was up there may 3-4, first stop @ Silver lake, which had about a 40 ft wide by 150ft long open window down by the dam, nada. drove east to the W.Carson at the 88/89 junction, fished directly upstream of the bridge....first cast with a small spinner no ones ever heard of! ( an Italian made "Caliber" brand, that never succeeded in getting a marketshare) and boom, a 20" 3 lb rainbow landed..........First cast curse, cause that was it for the trip! Drove to Markleeville Gen store, had my picture taken, then fished the heck outta the E fork around the vicinity of Carson river resort, and thanked Todd for the great job Alpine is doing managing its fishery........mid afternoon, drove to ICR, breezy and nothing biting. Camped right on the river, next morning went to Woodfords station, had a sandwich for B'fast( its the first time ive met Dave, heckuva nice guy, who will get my business anytime im in the area!) then back to ICR......probably 20 anglers that morning, most fishing bait, a couple including me fishing lures, and about 4-5 guys in tubes, slingin feathers.......I saw a couple fish taken by a couple bait guys, but that was it..........hopefully, in the next week or so, i will get back up there, possibly continue eastward to B'port as well........Bob
