Today i was fishing in the Oneil forebay, for stripers and i saw a school of about 20 fish which i thought to be bluegill or shad. So i set up a jig and went about catching one. To my amazement i caught something i have never seen before, it looks like a perch and began to give birth to live babies just like a perch, but this is freshwater. I caught a total of 3, i made sure to return them to the water quickly, and then decided to leave the school alone.

I didnt get any pictures of the live young as i tried to get them in the water asap as soon as i saw them coming out. In the second picture you can sort of see one coming out of the fish.
