As ugly as the weather was yesterday today it was beautiful. Deep blue cloudless Eastern Sierra skies light winds and a warm sun. It was a day that found me forgetting my lucky Dodger hat at home. Going over 100 trout for the year. Snapping off 3 fish. Having to wade up to my knees to save my rod from a 17 inch rod thief. Making new friends. And catching my best of the year (so far) Rainbow.

Arrived at ICR at 0615 to find myself the only one fishing on the west shore. Fished until 1015. Caught 8 trout from 8 inches to 6 1/4 pounds. All fish coming on green Gulp. Had many more bites and snapped off 3 other nice fish. Met a gentleman there from South Tahoe with the handle of Reelin Rob. Now Rob had this old Mitchell. He said it was made around 1970 for only one year and could only be used with a matching rod. Rob told me the model number but by that time the sun had been beating on this poor bald head for three hours and I forgot what it was. :-[ Perhaps someone can help me out. Thanks in advance. It was a wonderful morning.

Great report and congrats on that hog. The 3 pounder was really colorful. I think this is your best report to date, since something terrible was missing. What was it......? Oh yeah that ugly Dodger hat. Go Giant's!:kap1yd:Sweep!

Good stuff, Captain. I was just about to say, I thought you retired that reel. But I guess that was the 300 and not the 510.

Beautiful pics.

My last 300 died in April 2009. Went to a Shimano 4000. A most excellent reel. I've entered the 21st century.:rolleyes2:
