headed out to vaqueros yesterday morning. Winds were too high @7am for a boat rental. Went to a couple of spots along the shore. Fished from 7:45-1. Saw Lots of fish jumping about 30 feet from shore( just a few feet out of casting distance) throughout the day even once it heated up. A couple close to shore. One struck @ my bobber as it landed from a cast. Only had one bite but lost it:angry:. I was using chicken livers soaked in garlic salt and nightcrawlers. 3 fishermen I talked to on the walk back with total of six poles in the water were also skunked. But the marina guy said someone got two stripers.

Was still fun and the kid I took had a good time and asked to go again. Also got a free snapple cause he bet me the marina didn't sell cold drinks :p.

After they plant @ Vaqueros you can see the stripers chase the trout. Well it looks like something big and fast chasing the planters on top- anyone seen this?
